I'm an explorer and a perpetual beginner, always excited to try new places and experience that sense of wonder that comes with a shift in surroundings. Originally I come from sunny California, USA, but since university I've lived in Boston, northern Thailand, and am now based in Portland, OR.

For two and a half years after university I worked as a teacher in Boston and Thailand, and now I'm working at restaurants, writing for fun, learning to bake bread, and experimenting with art.

From March 2015-January 2016 I traveled in Southeast Asia, India, and Nepal. If you have any questions about great volcano hikes in Indonesia, how to order extra spicy noodles in Thailand, or what it's like to stay in an ashram in India, feel free to message me. I love traveling and the traveling community. Having the opportunity to experience hospitality and make connections with locals gives me the opportunity to better understand other cultures. I love playing tour guide in the places that I live whenever I have the opportunity to host couchsurfers as well.

Anything involving books, food, music, art, history, and the outdoors. Hearing people's stories always adds more breath and depth to my experiences. I also love the opportunity to learn new skills, even if it takes me a few tries. I'll try anything once.
