About Me

Hello all! I am an American student from the "Mountain State" West Virginia. I have a BA in Philosophy and Economics, and currently completing a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies.
I am a very outgoing person and would love to make many new friends in Europe. I love to relax and enjoy calm evenings, but I also have an adventurous spirit and often want to explore.
I drink way too much coffee. I love it, but it is a bit of an addiction at this point.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently spending the semester in Grenoble, France and would like to visit as much of Europe as possible before returning to the US because I do not know when I will ever have an opportunity to return!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading, mostly philosophy and literature. Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, and Chekhov are three of my favorite Russian authors. I also like dystopian novels, like those written by George Orwell, Ray Bradbury, etc.

I love going to concerts and music festivals, and I enjoy a broad array of music. I'm really into indie, alternative, blues, classic rock, etc. along with some electronic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling has really been an enriching experience for me the last few years, and it is difficult to pinpoint one specific thing to share. For me, the amazing thing is finding yourself so awe-struck by something you are doing, something that you see, or the people you are with, that in that moment all you can think is, "Yes, this is what it means to be happy. I am so glad I am living my life this way."

I think Kurt Vonnegut explains it a little better than me:
"I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is'."

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very open minded and easy to get along with. I really enjoy trying new things, so I am open to suggestions about events in the area. I would love to help you cook and will clean before I leave!
