About Me

I'm a 19 year old guy who's been trying to travel the world on the cheapest of dimes, and have as much fun as I can along the way. I'm an eagle scout, pole vaulter, swimmer, trap shooter, camper, explorer, and kinda tall to boot. I'm also very open to new ideas and experiences, and am more than happy to help others in need. I plan on studying astrophysics once I'm back in Minnesota.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my efforts to travel the world very cheaply, Couchsurfing is a great way to reduce costs. At the same time, though, the greatest way to learn about a new city is through its people. I'll be making friends and finding out the hidden gems of wherever I go. I tend to just go with the flow and generally wing everything.

Interests

Travel (big coincidence there), live music, computers, people, space, physics, learning, food, exploring, adventure, fun, talking, card games, hiking, backpacking, camping, life, languages, and trying anything new.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of most all types of music, but I usually listen to Indie Pop/Rock, Alternative, Classical, '50s jams, '70s grooves, plus whatever's on the radio.
My favorite books include Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Catch-22, The Stranger, Tricks of the Mind, The Martian, and probably a lot more I can't remember. My favorite TV shows are Rick and Morty, Sherlock, Arrested Development, Archer, etc. Fave movies include Lost in Translation, Clue, Memento, and again many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 7 months and $4000 circling the globe when I was only 19, and had an amazing time almost everywhere I went.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to think myself an eternal learner, but I'd be more than happy to share my experiences. I would absolutely love to learn all the different ways of cooking around the world. I can also share stories of my travels and adventures from Europe, the Middle East, or Southeast Asia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer being a good guest, not being a hassle at all, and of course stories of my travels. I also consider myself to be an alright cook, and I love to discuss some of the deeper, more overlooked things in life.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Kosovo, Netherlands, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States
