About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live without borders

ABOUT ME

I'm really easygoing and open minded (I know, I know, everyone puts that, but I am!) I like meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I'm just starting to build up my travel resume and can't wait to see all the fascinating things this world has to offer.
I grew up in Toronto going to a performing arts school studying dance. Most of my life has involved working with kids.
In spring 2012 I travelled Germany to volunteer on an Apiary and luckily they were willing to hire me so I spent two amazing summers learning about beekeeping and honey extraction.
Coming back toToronto I started working for a company that fundraises for non-profits. It's nice to be back and I feel as though it's a different city then the one I left. I suppose it's more likely it's me that's done the most changing.
I recently accepted a new position with a queer positive sex shop co-operative in the city. I'm really excited to start this exciting and challenging chapter.

PHILOSOPHY

You're responsible for your own happiness and the first step is accepting that things will forever be changing. Go with it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've used CS to find couches while travelling in Europe but my favourite part of being in the community is simply connecting to people. I've made countless friends, most of whom I never got to stay with but simple got together to share stories, or just explore a new city.
I really hope to be able to host soon. My schedule is all over the place and I'm not always home myself but feel free to send me a request. I'm always down for coffee or a beer even if I can't offer a couch and I'm an awesome activity partner!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed on several couches and attended some great events and meet-ups in europe. I look forward to being more connected to the North American CS community.

Interests

I've had the amazing opportunity to work in organic farms in Europe both through WWOOF and as an employee and it has definitely sparked my interest in learning more about agriculture. I've also been able to work closely with Toronto's largest LGBT film festival. I try my best to stay connected with social justice and activism happenings and groups in Toronto.
I'm a vegetarian so I love learning new vegetarian and vegan cooking tips.
I'm very active and enjoy biking, hiking, swimming and running but really just being outdoors is what I enjoy. I love camping and exploring nature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living on a farm has by far been the experience that's changed my the most. Not only was I living with 10-15 people and any given time, I was surrounded by nothing but open nature and the option of total seclusion. I'm still missing walking in the forrest and fields for hours without encountering another person. Lot's of cows though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn more German. Please be patient with me though, I'm more of a numbers than a language person.
