About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make it in D.C.!
ABOUT ME
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California to an Argentinean mother and American father (from Long Island, New York). At the age of 18, I considered pursuing a career in professional ballet, but decided instead to study politics and economics at U.C. Berkeley. At Berkeley, I studied International Political Economy but also loved my coursework in legal sociology, women and gender studies and rural development and agricultural policy. I also organized actions on campus on women's and gender issues.
After college, I worked as the Client Relations Director for a law firm and volunteered as a Conflict Resolution Specialist with the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center mediating family, housing, and labor conflicts.
During that time, I was able to visit my boyfriend in Senegal and my family in Argentina.
Then it was off for five months with my boyfriend in Europe. We couchsurfed, WWOOF-ed and Help-Xchanged all throughout Western Europe, Central Europe and Turkey.
I now work in Washington, D.C. for the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, where I advance immigrant women's health and rights as a Senior Policy Analyst. I love living in Washington, D.C.-the environment is intellectually stimulating and people are passionate about their work!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My boyfriend LITETRAVELER and I were hosted by many wonderful people in Europe. We would like to give back to the community by hosting and meeting up with travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My boyfriend and I surfed with many people from March-August 2011.
We currently enjoy attending the Bar Nights organized by couchsurfing D.C. and would like to host more guests.
We both travel quite a bit for work, so the challenge is finding the right time to spend time with Couchsurfers.
