About Me

I'm a 4th year medical student at the University of Newcastle. That pretty much sums me up, actually: nerdy, quirky, and in dire need of being more sociable.

I'm pretty relaxed, easy going, and have been told I make awful jokes. I love yoga, have done tap dancing since I was 5-years-old, subsist on coffee, get a thrill out of watching horror movies, and love to be regaled with stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Wanting to live the tragic "Eat, Pray, Love" life for a bit. I mean, I'm not heartbroken or a spunky professional, but I'm keen to see a lot more of the world.

I don't have a lot of disposable income, and I love meeting new people, so Couchsurfing seemed like the perfect fit for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: FKA Twigs, Halsey, Björk, Lana del Rey, Sia, Queen, ABBA. I'll happily listen to and most likely appreciate anything that's played, not too fussed

Movies: Mean Girls, Precious, Candy, It Follows, Bridesmaids, The Dallas Buyers Club, Her, Ex Machina

Books: The Importance of Being Earnest, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Still Alice, The BFG, anything Edgar Allen Poe / Sylvia Plath-like

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2012 I successfully auditioned as a dancer for the Moulin Rouge, and was offered a 12 month contract. Legit, I was shocked too.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I've taught tap dancing for about 6yrs, and will happily teach you a cheeky combination or two. I also know a little bit about medicine and the human body, and may be able to answer any relatively easy questions you have. My answer to most things, however, will probably be something like, "Mhmm... I think you should see a doctor about that."

Learn: I'd love to learn how to speak German more proficiently, as well as learning to knit, ride a skateboard, and also how to cook. I'm absolutely useless in the kitchen and struggle to even boil pasta half the time

Share: I like to think that I'm a really good listener. I'd love to share my keenness for conversation with you

What I Can Share with Hosts

A bunch of useless medical facts, really. They aren't fun either - most of them are painfully specific and relate to enzyme pathways in the liver or the pharmacokinetics of certain drugs. Nothing legitimately fun or trivia-worthy, I'm afraid

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Italy, Monaco, Thailand
