About Me

CURRENT MISSION

mission in couchsurfing: 2, maybe 3 nights in madrid, and another 2 or 3 in barcelona, then back to Chile. mission in life: as long as it involves laughs, love and lots of fun, i'm set!

ABOUT ME

I'm 22, just finished my last year of college. I started studying in Valparaiso, but finished the major in Montpellier just last week. I am Chilean but grew up in the United States, then returned for college. I have 2 siblings, an older sister and a younger brother (yes, I have middle child syndrome)and my illegitimate siblings I have around the world since my house in Viña hosts exchange students =)

PHILOSOPHY

People are really important in my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'm signing up because I'm leaving Europe on the 17th of June and I would like to go to Spain before I leave so I can see one of my exchange sisters that stayed in my house a few years back. The problem is, she's also on exchange and has nowhere for me to stay. I'm traveling with 2 friends, also Chilean, Cristian and Juan Pablo. I would love to spend maybe 3 nights in Madrid and 3 more in Barcelona before I leave. My flight to Madrid is on the 8th and I arrive at night. We would appreciate a place to stay and some good tips on sights and parties, and hopefully someone that will join us!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not been involved in CS yet, but in Valparaiso I had a friend who hosted surfers and we'd take them out to enjoy the amazing nightlife there. It really did seem like a great experience from what they told me and that's mostly the reason I decided to trust the site.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like lots of music from the strokes, arctic monkeys, mando diao to taking back sunday, saves the day and even justin timberlake, katy perry, lady gaga. And reggeton is great for dancing =)
I love watching movies, especially in movie theatres. I also watch nearly anything except zombie movies or horror movies which i find ridiculous.
My favorite book is the Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut..amazing satire! I also love Sophie's World.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The museum of tolerance in Los Angeles. I was taken there on a special school trip and I had never heard of it so I didn't know what it was about. It is the most bone-chilling experience (next to actually being in the real places, surely)on the world war 2 holocaust. I thought it would be boring, but it really makes you look at the world very differently. Sitting in a room listening to an 80 something year old man talk about how his brother sacrificed his life for him was heart wrenching. Going through the mock gas chambers and hearing stories. It was really an eye opening experience that you can't be taught in a classroom. It was great considering I'm not a history fan.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I have learned from moving around so much in my life is that stereotypes are nearly always very wrong. I hate them, they stigmatize. I know it's hard to let them go, it was even hard for me to not come to France with prejudice for the French, but they turned out to be awesome, although exceptions never fail to exist. I love to learn about cultures
