I was raised in Watauga, TN. I’m a PhD student at the University of Kentucky studying behavioral neuroscience and psychopharmacology.

Interests

I enjoy biking, writing, photography, hiking, throwing frisbee (Poleish horseshoes and occasionally disc golf), and other outside activities. I recently discovered that I really enjoy playing Yahtzee!. I’m a veteran Settlers of Catan player, but I haven’t played in years.

Music, Movies, and Books

Old country (Merle Haggard, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Roger Miller, etc.) is my favorite genre of music although I can listen to almost anything; however, I *especially* do not prefer modern pop-country. My favorite movies range from Glengarry Glen Ross to Dumb and Dumber to Django Unchained; my favorite movie is Inglorious Bastards. I like Tarantino. My favorite books include: East of Eden, The Alchemist, The Buddha Walks into a Bar, The Stranger, and 1984.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snuck into an Elton John concert and incidentally got offered two second row tickets by his manager.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can tell stories, entertain scientific, political, and philosophical questions, and I can cook pretty decently.
