Overview
About Me
I run a small environmental consulting firm in Houston, and most enjoy a good book, weekend trips, and live music in small venues.
I am a huge fan of living in Houston, and take every opportunity available to talk about this wonderful city. From a world-class Theater District and restaurants, to the revived Houston Heights and Midtown, or the countless festivals and events that are being held in Houston's ever growing parks and trails system... I could go on, but you get my point. Houston is awesome, and I enjoy showing people all the weird, quirk, and interesting Houston has to offer.
Oh, and my above mentioned job has had me working all over Houston and the surrounding area, so I'm always good for some random Houston factoid.
Other than that, I'm a PADI Open Water Diver (and working on advancing), working on my skydiving license, preparing for law school, am known to play a video game occasionally, really like going out for good food, and generally will try anything at least once.
And I love traveling, love meeting people from different cultures. Variety, particularly the variety of culture, is truly the spice of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I wouldn't say I am some free-spirited type of individual. I have an understanding of the world, and particular views. That being said, I am open to experiencing different cultures and peoples. I believe being a part of the Couchsurfing community is an excellent way of meeting and getting to know a variety of individuals from an almost infinite number of backgrounds. There is no way that every person will agree with every other person, but by getting to know as many other people as possible on a personal basis, there is a chance that we can come to respect and love each other regardless our differences.
And, honestly, I keep having awesome experiences hosting, and want to keep having awesome experiences.
Interests
Outdoor activities, group sports, lounging around, relaxing with my friends, reading just about anything, cooking if I have the time, scuba diving, skydiving... Honestly, I'll try just about any activity at least once, so feel free to ask.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have way too wide a taste in books and movies and music. But, my favorite movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting China was just simply life changing. Made great friends and explored such a unique and wholly different culture. Wandering around Chinese cities at night could fill a book. I know most travelers would not recommend it, but if you're ever in China, visit Hangzhou, it is an utterly beautiful and fun city.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have extensive knowledge of world and American history, customs, and practices. I have a very good understanding of what it takes to build a city from the civil engineering point of view, as well as some knowledge of the oil and gas industry. I read a lot and travel as often as I can, so my head is chock full of all sorts of random things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I know Houston, and I mean all of Houston, like the back of my hand. If you're ever feeling real adventurous, ask, and I can take you to some pretty weird spots.
