About Me

In Berlin until Nov 3 to screen our film on the refugee crisis. I just need a floor to sleep on, if you have a yoga mat for some padding that’d be comfortable. Travel research, and writing, as I try to understand the effect the Syrian Crisis has had upon the Europe. Started when a unique Syrian activist from Raqqa (ISIS HQ) heard about a small project I did off the Syrian border and invited me to the Oslo Freedom Forum. Traveling Oslo to Lebanon/Syria border and back to unknown places to advocate for a Palestinian woman who lives with her family. Her Syrian husband migrated Berlin and we are trying to get them reunited. I’ve been working with them for 2 years now and this is the make it/break it year before I have to prioritize my standard of living as my savings are nearly exhausted. I currently am writing a lot and am interested in light-hearted conversations about travel adventures to really whatever. ABOUT ME I enjoy laughing and pleasant conversation. I am one of the more flexible people you will meet as long as we keep the heart of having a good time. I am #5 of 7 and now have 11 nieces and nephews. My families proudest achievement is being the first generation out of multi-generational poverty. I grew up in small town Iowa (corn and pork capital of the world) so more than half my life was like Huckleberry Finn and Little House on the Prairie. In 2014, after 5 years of "the American Dream" working Wall Street I tried to start a company and lost everything...then another. I decided to take a break, travel, write, and find the simple joys of life with small business and less busy jobs. Recently, my tiny little NGO/non-profit got picked up by the Human Rights Foundation and that is my full-time focus for the next 6 months. Our hope is to have our micro-finance project off the Syrian border up and running by year end. I don’t mean to come across so pretentious in this profile, but your help would be tremendous as I am a hyper low budget traveler. www.storiesofrefuge.co Insta: storiesofrefuge YouTube: storiesofrefuge hello@storiesofrefuge.co In the end, I just like people and don't care who they are or where they come from which typically results in just a good 'ol time. PHILOSOPHY Don't think, just say yes.
