About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Graduate school in music

ABOUT ME

Caleb: I am currently a graduate student at University of Arizona studying Choral Conducting. I love to make all types of music and traveling is a big passion of mine as well.

My wife Jody has lived in West Africa (Burkina Faso), India, Washington DC, Arizona and Oregon. She has travelled extensively in Africa, Europe, and India, and is always up for learning and trying something new!

We currently live in beautiful Tucson, AZ. The state of Arizona is one of my favorites. I have lived in Minnesota and Missouri which is where I grew up. I have traveled all over the United States and always enjoying finding new places.

I also spend a lot of my time doing work for school. But when I'm not doing homework, I play guitar and sing! Though I am not a good songwriter. I also enjoy stargazing and exploring the universe through my telescope. Recently, I have gotten into astrophotography; taking pictures of the moon, sun, and starry night skies.

I enjoy good beer and great food over stimulating conversation. I like to try local food in the countries I visit. The weirdest things I have eaten include jellyfish and raw horse meat. What kind of foods can you introduce me to?

When I visit other countries I like to see the touristy places but I also like to get away from tourists. I wanna know where the locals eat, drink, and hang out. I want to eat food and drink!

I'm not particularly outgoing but I do know how to talk to people. I just choose my words carefully and I rarely say anything unless I mean it.

I think you would enjoy getting to know my wife and I. We are clean, courteous, and will respect your time and space. We don't stay out too late partying and we tend to wake up early... though we am able to sleep as late as you need me to.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is not my home, I'm just passing through. My personal philosophy is to learn more than I knew yesterday.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I generally use Couchsurfing when traveling in a foreign country but honestly haven't been able to travel as much as I want lately!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed only once and have hosted one guest as of yet. So far, it has been a wonderful experience getting to know a few people over this site and staying with my friend in Istanbul.

-Sung Danny Boy in Ireland to a very attentive audience
-Eaten raw horse in Japan
-Kissed the Blarney stone
-Stood at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon
-Walked from Europe to Asia (in Istanbul!)
-Visited the Rose Valley in Bulgaria

Teach, Learn, Share
