About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get out of the States! The travel bug has me itching to get out of my comfort zone!

ABOUT ME

In a former life I worked as a distribution logistics manager. I gave all that up and headed out for 27 months of volunteer service through the Peace Corps. I was lucky enough to be placed in Vanuatu where i was an Agro-Business advisor and a Small Business and Eco Tourism advisor. Since then I have been traveling through South East Asia and the United States.

I am super easy to get along with and personally get along with just about anyone. When i am out and about I tend to attract the "crazy" people. Friends tell me it is because I will listen to anyones story no matter how crazy it seems.

I love meeting travelers from around the world and sharing our experiences with each other. When I am traveling and see a fellow traveler eating or drinking by them self I always try to extend an invite for them to join me or the group I am with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I am new to the Couchsurfing.org community I have lived the couch surfing experience through staying with random friends of friends through out the world. Craziest couch surfing experience was trekking from the north to south on an island I have never been to before and sleeping with families I met along the way.

Interests

Life!,People, Food, new places, Juggling, snorkeling, SCUBA, biking, Cruising on my MC, Learning, pretty much anything that involves a good experience, oh and drinking Kava!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Shantaram is my current favorite book. Other favorites include, Way of The Peaceful Warrior, Spiritwalker, Medicine Maker, Running with Scissors, Harry Potter, Under and Alone, Mutant Message Down Under.

I love movies of all genres. Going to the movies is one of my favorite luxuries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been blessed to do so many amazing things in my life. Standing on top of Mt Yasur the most active volcano in the world and watching it spew lava 150 feet above my head.

On that same island I lived in a small village of Middle Bush Tanna, this is in the heart of the island where the Kastom is very strong. This means they have truly held on to their beliefs. I lived in the village the same way that they lived, in a small bamboo hut, I ate the same island food, and shared in the kastoms. The country is one of the last known places to have cannibalism and is where the idea of Bungee jumping comes from.

Teach, Learn, Share

Engligh, Bislama, Juggling. I have a thousand stories about Vanuatu and how life works on these very remote islands that are still full of strong kastom (traditional customs.)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Virgin Islands, British, Virgin Islands, U.S.
