ABOUT ME

My name is Jennifer, I'm 30 and am from Northern California. Just moved to Ireland in early August for a year. Very excited to live abroad! This is my third trip to Europe. Last year I backpacked twelve countries solo for two and half months. I had such a great time and loved Europe so much, that I went home, saved up, got a work Visa...and here I am. At home I have five brothers and sisters (ages 12 to 22). I'm a quintessential Gemini; can be a ball of fire or low-key and laid back. I'm usually always down...for whatever. Anyone who knows me would say I can be quite entertaining.I love to have fun as often as possible (who wouldn't?) and for some reason I have enough energy to keep up with myself. ;) I grew up in California (Monterey and Sacramento), and also lived on Oahu Hawaii for two years, as well as Georgia. I am lucky to have many good friends and a loving family that I love to be with when at home...but I also enjoy my relaxed, time alone. For the most part I am a happy human being, who carries a smile a majority of the time and I'm good at not taking my bad days out on other people...which I definitely think all people should practice. ;) I’m a realist...yet a huge dreamer. I like singing, dancing, cooking, reading, museums, hiking, going to shows (music, theater, whatever), car rides...cruuuising ;) (that sounds very canine) with no destination, drive-in movies, exploring nature, going out for a fun night on the town or hanging with friends at home. I also enjoy...not to sound like a douche...going to the gym. Overall…I love life and like to have fun. Live, laugh, love...as they say. Hopefully this isn’t a little TMI...I swear I don't run at the mouth like this usually. I listen as much as I talk.(: Just thought I'd be thorough, since I personally would want to know a little (or a lot) about a person before I stay with them or vice versa. Happy travels!(:

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couch surfed in Edinburgh Scotland...and also met up with a Couch Surfing member in Rome Italy for a day/evening of site seeing. I've met Couch Surfers for one on one hanging out...and also attend the Friday weekly Couch Surfing meeting in Dublin every once in awhile...which is basically just a bunch of us going out for drinks and sharing good conversation. I still keep in contact with all the CSers I've met through this site on a regular basis....and without a doubt made some lifelong friends through CSing. It's been a great experience so far.:)

Interests

Traveling, writing, reading, photography, art, movies, good heart felt music; along with fun dance music. Love acoustic guitar. I'm slowly but surely learning to play myself. Family and friends, helping in general...I enjoy volunteer work. I absolutely love meeting new people and being awestruck by other amazing human beings personalities, views, and opinions. I love continually learning and being inspired.(: Despite the above...I am not a hippy. ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, I’ve gone through a lot of book and music phase’s interests in my life. Right now I'm reading Steve Martin's "Born Standing Up". I also recently enjoyed Chelsea handlers book "My Horizontal Life" about her sex-capades.;)
In the past I've also been known to enjoy some Burrows, Kerouac, and Bukowski. I also like authors who enlighten such as Eckhart Tolle and Chopra. Movies...I like them all. War, chick flicks, Musicals, comedies, action, sci-fi, and horror. Music...anywhere from Queen, Arcade Fire, Neil Young, Michael Jackson, Mumford & Sons, Guns & Roses, John Mayer, Fiona Apple, Gipsy Kings, Tribe Called Quest, Tears for Fears, Bob Marley, Jamiroquai, The Counting Crows, Billy Joel, U2, Frank Sinatra, One Republic, The Beatles, Foo Fighters, Van Morrison, Radio Head, etc.:/I enjoy many different genres of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really loved the Cinque Terre in Italy, Bath in England, Glendalough in Ireland, Pompeii Italy, Rome, Barcelona and Madrid. God...so many! France, Germany, Scotland, Greece, Spain...you name it, I can think of a gorgeous place I'd love to revisit...or visit for the first time. All those places really hold a special place in my heart. I love the beautiful island life of Hawaii. Helicoptering over the island of Oahu was pretty sweet. I also love my great home state of California! I love walking along the beaches in Monterey, strolling around and eating food in San Francisco, partying in Santa Cruz, wine drinking in beautiful Napa, site seeing in Los Angeles, and going camping (despite the bears) in Tahoe.

All ethnicity’s, all beliefs, all religions...all people. As long as your good natured. ;)I think for the most part, we can all learn and in turn benefit from each other.
