About Me
CURRENT MISSION
travel somewhere new once a year, host people from everywhere
ABOUT ME
I love everything about hotels. I work as a hotel consultant and dream about owning my own hotels one day. I like the idea of opening your house to others, providing a shelter away from home, and that is essentially what a hotel does.
PHILOSOPHY
8 hours work, 8 hours sleep, 8 hours fun fun fun. However, seems like work takes a bigger piece of the pie these days!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to participate by being a good host. I think couchsurfing is awesome - it gets people trusting each other, learning from each other, sharing great stories, and most importantly, making friends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have yet to couchsurf myself, but I have hosted two couchsurfers in Los Angeles and one pair in Miami. I also met up for drinks with couchsurfers in South Africa.
Interests
I'm an avid runner - will run in any weather rain or shine, in snow or in desert heat. I'm currently training for a half marathon.
I'm a beach volleyball player. Play almost every weekend at Miami Beach.
I also love ice hockey - I'm a goalie but I'm pretty bad. Just not a good skater but I like blocking pucks.
I try to do random acts of community service. I joined the Rotaract Club and we do service projects from tree-planting to hospital visits.
But traveling is my number one hobby. I can't sit still and I dream about the next adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music, I don't like to categorize myself. Pretty eclectic taste from 90s rock to Latin jazz, from house to salsa.
I'm a sucker for stupid horror movies, trying to see which one will really scare me the most. So far, the Exorcism of Emily Rose sends chills down my spine. Otherwise, I love westerns like Tombstone and 3:10 to Yuma. But recently I loved the movie Inception.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of two Americans (the other my friend) to kayak from isla Margarita to isla Coche - never been done before! We got from one island to the other in 4 hours but on the way back the waves got rough and had to be picked up by a tourist ferry boat.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my knowledge of Venezuela if anyone is interested in traveling there. I can converse in Spanish as well.
I like to salsa dance, so I can show some steps to people interested in dancing.
I also taught English to foreign students, so I can help with anyone trying to improve their English skills, any level.
