About Me

Ah, y tengo todo escrito en ingles porque este perfil ha estado evolucionando desde cuando no hablaba castellano! Pero hablo español también, me podéis escribir en cualquier de los dos. O spanglish, o fragnol... como quieras.

CURRENT MISSION

To be happy around happy people in places I've never been to.

ABOUT ME

I'm active, chatty, and always up for an adventure. This is my third year traveling and living abroad and I'm having a great time enjoying life and taking advantage of the opportunities that come my way. I believe it's much more likely that someone who has travelled the world will eventually get a job than the other way around, so I'm trying to make the most of my 20s by getting to know as many cultures, people, strange sports, delicious foods, and cool places as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

Water seeks its own level.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love being a host, but I've found that I also really enjoy being a guest. I enjoy looking at the things people keep in their houses. I'd much rather look at the books on someone's shelves than the lobby of a hotel. Ideally, I'd like to stay with people who love where they live and host people who are independent but friendly.

Interests

I'm a Hasher. If you're thinking about ganja, guess again: it's the Hash House Harriers, the international drinking club with a running problem. I started my own Hash in Bilbao, effectively becoming the Grandmaster, Head Hare, Hash Cash, and every mismanagement position simultaneously. A labor of love!
In case you're wondering, my official title is Glory Hole, Queen B*tch of the Bilbao Hash. And in case you're confused, wikipedia!
UPDATE: I moved to Argentina, and my baby Hash died after being abandoned by its mother. However, there's a great hash here (the BAHHH) that runs every other Sunday. You're more than welcome to join!

Other than that: reading, list-making, all pets except bunnies (I'm allergic!), backpacking and camping, leather shoes, colorful maps, and tacky refrigerator magnets are some of the things I love most.

Also, FOOD. Anything, everything, give me more, I'll eat it all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Partying at the Cuba Libre in Iguazu and getting tricked into thinking I was -really- drunk. I didn't realize that lots of clubs in South America have additional dance floors that open later on in the night. I kept saying to myself, "I swear there was a wall there! I'm drunk as hell!"

- Getting giant hickies from manatees in Key Largo, Florida. If you swim really slow they'll grab your leg with their flippers and suck on your skin! I guess they like the salt. Manatees have really kind eyes.

- US National Parks rule. I've been to Arches, Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, Zion, Yellowstone, Petrified Forest, Great Smokies, Grand Tetons, Everglades, Biscayne, Sequoia, Shenandoah, and Yosemite.

- The train ride between Oslo and Bergen made me laugh and cry at the same time because it was just so beautiful.

- Climbing up the very exposed chain section of the yellow trail in the High Tatra mountain range (wearing Tevas, no less) in Eastern Slovakia was one of the biggest rushes I've had in a while.

- Semi-aimlessly walking 12 miles from my home in Pontevedra, Galicia to the random, Google-map selected destination of Bueu, which turned out to be the first of many such walks.

- Picking loads of wild blackberries on a mountain overlooking the city of Bilbao. I walked there from my doorstep!
