About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Somehow common, I must say. I just wanna walk all around the planet. A very simple purpose.

ABOUT ME

I am an extremely dynamic person (sometime I should rest !) who likes to share with others over all.
I have been dreaming of travelling since I was a little kid, left Italy with 16 and made my hole in Paris all by myself. I left a very well-paid job in a big economic mag to do freelancing, for I felt a lack of meaning in what I was doing. I've been poor, and sold my books to buy food, and did not mind it that much. I would love to shoot a docu-movie sometimes in the next ten years. My only regrets : not to dance anymore, and not to be able to help others too much, for I am not regular (too often abroad)

PHILOSOPHY

My personal motto : go far. I am a traveller in my heart and soul. Understand a culture in its very little details and through living with the people, that's what I love to do the most. Of course, I often doubt that journalism is useful at all - those are dark days. But sometimes, I see it does, and that

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couchsurfing in my own town, Paris, when I sometimes come back from travelling and my appartment is rented. In those occasion, I love to stay at my friend's houses. We are growing old, and this gets us back to our student days - plus I get to know their kids a lot better (I take the sunday morning shift and read stories in bed !).
Also, I couchsurfed in India - in a friend's livingroom in Dehli (a very warm and mosquito-sy experience !) and in Srinagar, Kashmir - which was a honour, for I was hosted by two very dear friends and photographers, the Maqbool brothers.
I couchsurfed in Banda Aceh, in an NGO's house, when I went there to see what happened 1 year after the tsunami catastrophe.

Interests

Of course, I travel for work, and that's what I love to do most. I love walking around, stopping in places I don't expect to, and talk to people if I am in the mood. I love dancing, drawing, cooking, tasting wine, trekking in the mountains, taking risks sometimes. Also, I have a passion for Italy, my birth country, and would like to visit it all, little by little.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love jazz, and jazz singing over all. And groove too, although I have been playing classical piano for 15 years, and guitar for some time (I'm not that good I shall say !).
Favourite books : Italo Calvino's trilogy, Queneau "Les fleurs bleues", George Orwell's "Down and Out...", Roal Dahl's short stories.
Favourite movies : René Clément "Plein Soleil", Ettore Scola "Brutti, Sporchi e Cattivi", Sergio Leone's "Once upon a time in America".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the chance to follow the 3rd peace bus in Kashmir, that carried people from the Pakistani Kashmir (Azad kashmir) that had been parted from their families for over 30 years. That was the most intense moment in my life.
Also, i spent 2 weeks in an ashram in Rajasthan for child slaves. A great NGO (Global March) rescues this children and bring them in the middle of the desert to heal and learn how to live normally. An amazing experience, that also gave me the will to adopt sometimes in the near future (when I find the right father, of course).
I've also been in the Andes, in Peru, to visit some peasants that are being exploited by some pharmaceutical industries for their traditional knowledges, about medicinal herbs. I remember a terrible lunch that gave me a chronic gastritis for 5 months but I ate it surrounded by people and at 4700 meters, so I love the memory of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share : piano playing, singing, drawing, italian cooking,
I would like to learn : more jazz singing, windsurfing, boat sailing (I've sailed for years as a kid), acquarelle techniques, hindi language, ayurvedic medicine.
