About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the beautiful and the ridiculous everywhere I go.

ABOUT ME

I'm on a working holiday in Australia after a 9-month backpacking trip through Southeast Asia. Just finished living in Sydney for 7 months - ready for the next adventure in Melbourne!

PHILOSOPHY

Live fast and die old. And take pictures of everything along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When traveling, I like to stay with people who are interested in meeting someone new and sharing their culture. I'm not looking for a free hostel--I really want to see what normal life is in the places I end up, because I think that's the best part of traveling!

When I have a longer-term place to stay, I plan to host fellow surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I Couchsurfed on a five-month trip through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina a couple of years ago and loved it.

Interests

Languages, photography, dancing tango and salsa and just about anything else, laughing until my eyes water, fashion, jungle treks, people-watching, cooking, being a dork about things like crossword puzzles, seeing where my travels take me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: a little of everything. Bob Dylan, the Black Keys, salsa, blues, anything dance-able
Books: One Hundred Years of Solitude, A Confederacy of Dunces, the Glass Castle, anything by David Sedaris
Movies: Amelie, Little Miss Sunshine, Chocolat, Blood Diamond, Pulp Fiction, No Country For Old Men (anything by the Coen brothers, actually), American Beauty

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I poured molten iron once! Also, the Salar de Uyuni (salt flats in Bolivia) is probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to work at a Moroccan restaurant, so I can teach you the most useless skill ever: how to pour hot tea into a glass balanced on your forehead.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Peru, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, United States
