CURRENT MISSION

To travel and meet as many people as possible while I'm in Europe for the summer- and to get past the stereotypes and learn what people are really like. Also- to laugh a lot

ABOUT ME

I'm 21, friendly, and adventurous- and I'm looking to make the most of being in Europe this summer. I'm up for anything.
I'm the oldest of 4 kids (I have 2 younger brothers, 1 younger sister) and this summer we are all going to be out of the country - my brothers are coming to meet me in Germany and my sister is going to Argentina (this isn't normal for us, it just happened this way).
I have a boyfriend who is my absolute favorite person - he's planning on joining up with me to travel later this summer.
I love my family and friends- but I also love being independent. I love that I was able to study abroad in France.
I graduated high school with a class size of 46, my favorite food is fresh strawberry pie, I don't like brown pop/soda, my favorite language is French, I've had my nose fractured when I was catching for softball (the ball was not soft), I try to do yoga every day, I'm working on a research project about Obama-mania, I want to swim with a whale shark...I'm out of random facts for the moment - if you want to know something, just ask, but I'd rather learn about you rather than talk about myself.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for camaraderie – my best memory so far is taking the night train, sharing a bottle of wine and good cheese, and listening to Simon and Garfunkel... it doesn’t get any better. Memories are better if they have been shared with someone.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm traveling right now, but if there's someone who wants to meet up with me, you are welcome to join! I will be traveling to the places that I listed in "travels"- if you live there, even if you don't have a couch- i'd love to meet you for coffee or a drink.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just learned about CS from friends who did it last summer in Europe. I'm looking forward to doing it myself and then to return the favor of hosting when I get back to the USA.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: John Denver, Simon and Garfunkel, Queen - Movies: Crash, Lost (I know, not a movie..but now I'm addicted) - Books: Le Petit Prince, lately i've been reading a lot of travel guides..Obama's autobiography and his "Audacity of Hope", I'm trying to understand my president a little more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't decide between two..

SCUBA diving in the Caribbean was absolutely gorgeous. I didn't want to leave. It's unfortunate that I'm not a mermaid.

also- Skydiving in Wisconsin. It was literally breathtaking. Your survival instinct kicks in as you are looking out from the plane, and you ask yourself "what the heck am I doing??" ..but then it's too late..

Teach, Learn, Share

I can solve the Rubik's cube in 2 minutes! I'll teach you, but it takes about 6 hours to learn, so you have to be patient and persistent. I can also make/teach a few easy American meals (not hamburgers).
I also want to continue to improve my French.
