About Me

Hey there! I’m Ankita, a curious traveler, Advanced Scuba Diver, and a great cook with an ever-growing bucket list and a love for all things spontaneous. Currently, I’m balancing my work as a Tech Lead in an IT company and mastering the art of daydreaming about my next big adventure (spoiler: it involves great authentic food, scenic trails, and probably a lot of wandering aimlessly).

When I’m not knee-deep in work madness, I’m busy exploring new cultures, cooking, and searching for the best hidden gems wherever I go. I believe in authentic connections, whether that’s swapping stories over a cup of coffee or getting lost together while attempting to follow Google Maps.

I’m easygoing, love a good laugh, and believe the best travel memories come from the unplanned moments. Bonus points if we can bond over random trivia, travel fails, or the universal struggle of trying to pack light. Let’s explore the world one couch at a time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because, let’s be real, the best part of traveling isn’t just ticking off famous landmarks—it’s the people, stories, and secret spots you discover along the way! While I love exploring, I’ve also built a solid reputation in my hometown of Mumbai as the go-to person for finding the best cafes, shopping spots (bargain skills included!), and, of course, where to get the tastiest local food.

Whether you’re hunting for a killer coffee, a great shopping deal, or an unforgettable meal, I’ve got you covered. Couchsurfing lets me share those experiences with fellow travelers and pick up insider tips when I’m on the road myself. Let’s swap stories, explore hidden gems, and avoid the tourist traps together!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy listening to all kinds of music, depending on my mood. Some of my go-to genres include Pop, Soft Rock, Blues, Indie-pop, Bollywood, Punjabi, and Rap.

When it comes to movies, I’m drawn to films with strong storytelling and direction. Whether it’s a Thriller, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Rom-Com, Horror, Detective movie, Courtroom Drama, or Animation, if the story is good, I’m in!

I also love watching sitcoms, and a few of my all-time favorites are Friends, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, The Middle, Modern Family, and Seinfeld.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a certified advanced scuba diver & one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had was diving with Whale Sharks in the Philippines.
Being face-to-face with these gentle giants was absolutely surreal! It was a humbling and awe-inspiring moment, surrounded by the beauty of the ocean.
Every dive I’ve done has been special, but this one definitely tops the list as a life-changing adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to think of every travel adventure as a “teach and learn” buffet—there’s always something delicious to sample! I’m passionate about sharing my scuba diving wisdom, whether it’s diving tips for beginners or tales from my underwater escapades. In return, I’m all ears for juicy tidbits about new cultures, local customs, and travel hacks that fellow globetrotters have up their sleeves.

I also love to swap culinary secrets—think of me as your Mumbai food tour guide, ready to dish out favorite recipes and the best eateries. Let’s trade stories, skills, and experiences, and make our time together a feast for the senses!

What I Can Share with Hosts

When it comes to sharing with my hosts, I’ve got a treasure trove of goodies!

1. Cultural Insights: I can dish out quirky tales from my culture that’ll make you laugh and maybe even question your life choices.
2. Local Tips: Think of me as your personal travel guide—just without the fancy hat and the clipboard. I know the best spots that aren’t on any tourist map!
3. Scuba Diving Knowledge: I’ll share my underwater wisdom and stories that might just have you contemplating becoming a mermaid—or at least a weekend diver.
4. Cooking Skills: I can whip up a meal that’ll make your taste buds dance. Let’s just say my cooking is so good, even the leftovers start a fan club!
5. Travel Stories: My travel tales come with plot twists that’ll rival any thriller—expect laughter and maybe a few “Did that really happen?” moments.
6. Language Exchange: I can practice my French with you! Just beware, my accent might make you question your ears.
7. Hobbies: Whether it’s photography or crafting, I’m ready to share my talents. Just don’t expect a Picasso—more like a “modern art” interpretation!

Let’s make our time together a mix of fun, laughter, and a bit of delightful chaos!
