About Me

Hellooo, My Name's Callum, I'm from Belfast, Ireland. I started travelling when I was 19, I took a one way flight to Colombia all by myself, i didn't speak any Spanish, I didn't know anyone over there - I expected if everything went well I'd maybe be away for maximum 3 months. I ended up travelling Colombia, Peru and Bolivia for 7 months altogether. It was the best experience of my life, I really mean it when I say it couldn't have went better for me, I was so fortunate with the people I met and the places I got to see. Ever since I've loved travelling but have been somewhat restricted for time and money because of university.

I studied my undergrad for 3 years In Liverpool, England. I've now finished and am living back home in Belfast, hopefully about to start a new job in January.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am going on a trip to Morocco this December 9th-23rd. I have a ruff idea of a route I could take but other than that I just want to see and experience as much as I can in this incredible country. I'm open to staying nearly anywhere, I fly into Agadir and out of Fez. I'd love to try and see the mountains and the desert, and everything in between.

I'm here on CouchSurf because I'd love to meet some Moroccans and learn as much as I can from them :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love near enough all music, if it sounds good - I like it. I love hearing music that's very new to me or something I've not heard before. But my Spotify this year is telling me that I like these genres the most: Alternative Hiphop, Indie Sould, Jazz House, Alternative R&B, UK Grime... But I listen to a little of everything.

I love reading when I do, but I'm quite slow at it haha, since being an adult I've read mostly non fiction, things like psychology, Self improvement, spiritual books etc. Now I'd like to branch out to some fiction, maybe some classics?

And I love great movies, like critically acclaimed ones with awesome characters, writing and cinematography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling on my own at 19 was a big deal for me. I think it changed me a lot.

I also acted as my friends cornerman for his boxing match on front of about 300 people. I have no boxing or cornering experience so it was pretty intense.

Teach, Learn, Share

I interested in a lot of things like most people. I like watching YouTube videos on niche topics and things like that.

But I'd say my main interests are in and around Psychology, Business/Startups, AI developments, travel, photography.

What I Can Share with Hosts

This will be my first time actually so I'm not sure, what do you guys want?!

I have a level of knowledge... I know a fair bit about my interests, exercise etc my friends sometimes call me wise, but they may just be making fun of me so I can't make any promises.

Of course I can talk about Ireland, Belfast, our culture and rich history. I could try teach some English and Spanish.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, England, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, United States, Wales
