About Me
Hey guys! My name’s Cal, and I’m excited to be back out travelling and back on the Couchsurfing app! I’m an Aussie, and this isn’t my first rodeo abroad - I like to think I am a bit more put together now and won’t end up losing half of my belongings or packing way too much, but I can’t make any promises! 😂 I’m currently travelling around the Americas (USA, Mexico, Colombia and finally Canada) and am very keen to meet lots of amazing people on my journey.
I’m a recent graduate in Data Science and am looking to experience as much as I can in life, so now that the lockdowns in Australia have ended and we can travel, let the good times roll!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’ve used couchsurfing 3 times in the past as a visitor, but unfortunately have never had the right living situation to host (although this is something I want to do when I eventually have my own place), and every time I have met people through this app I have had the most amazing wholesome experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
My absolute all time favourite movie is Into The Wild, and I am always happy to watch it myself or to share it with somebody new. In regards to my music taste, I like a broad range of music, but mainly enjoy chilled out Aussie indie music :)
If you like heavier music I am also a bit of a metalhead (fave band in that area is Atreyu), and also get around a lot of EDM music! (Drum n bass, Riddim, Tech House).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I’ve done is travelling to the USA this year to work on a Summer Camp. As a tennis instructor at Camp Pinewood, I’ve had some of the most unforgettable memories, and opened up so many more doors to travel and new experiences. I travelled the West Coast of the USA - living out of a van with four of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. These kinds of adventures have just been so incredible and are really what I want out of life!
What I Can Share with Hosts
While I don’t have much in the way of money, I make up for that with a hard-working and fun attitude! I’m always quick to give a helping hand, crack a joke or trade stories with new people :)
I consider myself to be a pretty good programmer so even though it is a niche skill I can be a handy person to have around if you are having tech issues. I can also DJ! Although I am not currently travelling with any equipment.
