About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience as many new places, people and feelings as possible.

ABOUT ME

I'm an armchair philosophising, sceptically romantic, mildly hairy guy. I am interested only in things that are interesting. I love having new experiences because they always have the capacity for novelty. I'm laid back, easy going, and like to keep people happy (although this trait can often be a weakness).

I am 24 and starting my career in teaching at a secondary school in Kent. I'm an atheist who trained as a religious education teacher (for some reason) and now teach sociology and citizenship too.

I'm fairly new to travelling, but trying to make the most of every holiday I get to see a new part of the world. Basically I want wring every drip I can out of life. And have fun doing it.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a very liberal person, and want people to make their own decisions about how to live their life, as long as they don't hurt others. I believe we're too easily told what to think and feel, and we need to learn to create and engage with our own thoughts and feelings.

I also think that a big part of learning about yourself is learning about other people and cultures. That is why travel (and couchsurfing) can be so important.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Pass on the word, principles and attitudes of CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only met up to socialise with people through couchsurfing, so I'm yet to have my first full CS experience of hosting or being hosted. But everyone I have spoken to loves it so I can't wait.

Interests

Music - dabbling in most kinds, I also play piano and guitar. Sport - to watch and play football and cricket, and many others. Books - Penguin Classics! Philosophy - my degree subject. Politics - try to follow it without getting too angry.
