ABOUT ME
Working in State Government projects, i I end up contracting/doing mostly policy projects wherever I'm needed between travels.
Love to get out on the weekends for camping hiking or cycling. In fact if you come and stay, there is a good chance we could line up a hike somewhere special.
I'm into hosting and making a great comfortable place for my guests...it is the sort of place where I would like you to be as relaxed as u like
If you want me to host you please READ ALL OF my profile, including reading the other section titled "my home" or "accepting guests. read more" and use the password there when making request.
Yes im gay/queer. This information is here so that I can avoid hosting or surfing with people with negative attitudes or tendency toward expressing ignorance.
I can teach you some meditation techniques, or we can sit together. I mainly do a vipassana practice...when I can maintain it...
I live alone and love hosting and sharing with couchsurfers for the company and interactions through this awesome community.
PHILOSOPHY
Free your mind, your ass will follow!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Respectful and friendly, love to share the time I can with my guests or other couchsurfers. Come hiking, bike riding, or drop in for dinner! Sorry the Moroccan Chicken Tagine, and Kangaroo Bolognaise are off menu now that I am vegetarian, but there's some great things to be done with beans, lentils, chickpeas and the pressure cooker and tagine!
When surfing I am handy around the home and happy to pitch in wherever my future travels might let me get some surfing in.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have hosted many really wonderful guests (long term friends) over the years and enjoy sharing my home every time. Some of my guests have changed me forever.

Music, Movies, and Books
I will probably play you my favorite radio stations when you are here too - non-commercial community stations are running strong in melbourne since at least when I was a little kid, and they feed me loads of new stuff (indie pop, electornica, late night experimental soundscapes) through to afro beats, world folk, blues and country acid. Two great stations I support, you can check their very varied programs and stream from around the world: 3RRR and 3PBS.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Previously, I had posted sailing across Bass Straight with some friends to Hobart. It will always stick in my memory, especially the bit when the steering mechanism busted in heavy weather and we got battered about for 24 hours, almost meeting our end.
More recently, the vipassana meditation retreat has had such an enduring effect on my life. I cannot describe it here. Wonderful people steered me toward it (including via couchsurfing) and I do the same in return where it is welcome. So amazing, so grateful, life changing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Probably the most easily teachable skill I have is fixing up bicycles - so if you have one to work on, I can run you through getting it back on the road. It's easy. In fact I will probably make a real mission out of it and spend far longer than necessary.
And cooking, I love to cook, I love to show people how to cook, and I will gladly make you something if you want do the dishes! If you are into food too, then connecting with people in the kitchen is one of the easiest things to do.
And I will talk your ears off about hikes, meditation, outdoor adventures.
