About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world before it all goes.
ABOUT ME
I am a student living life and loving it in Austin, Texas. I have lived in the this area my whole life and am very happy to call it home.
I am a part of a student housing cooperative near the UT campus. I live in an ancient, but beautiful, big house that keeps me and fourteen others. Together we decide our own house budget, manage household labor, and collectively create our own house culture. Living in my coop has been one of the greatest, most important experiences of my life. I have grown into a more conscious, caring person hungry for new experiences and ideas thanks to the eclectic crowd that is my coop family.
I am a Government and Spanish graduate of the University of Texas. Even though I don't have any current ambitions to enter to world of politics, I enjoyed studying the subject. One of my biggest initiatives right now is practicing and honing my Spanish. I hope one day to be a fluent speaker. I have future plans of moving to a Spanish speaking country.
PHILOSOPHY
Traditions and convictions are important, but sometimes they can be too binding. I try to keep an open mind and wide perspective as I encounter new people with different ideas and viewpoints than my own. How I view the world and participate in it is constantly changing as I continue to be shaped by new experiences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing was an amazing tool to have while I was traveling overseas. Beyond saving some cash, I received a more intimate, local perspective of each city I visited through all my amazing hosts. I am continuing the hospitality by opening up my home to travelers on a tight budget who are interested in seeing more of a city then just what's in the travel guides.
Interests
I love practicing my Spanish with anyone, anywhere. I like being outside. Walking just to walk is something I enjoy doing. I feel it is a great way to get a really good feel for the landscape you're in.
