ABOUT ME
I'm always eager to learn new things, encounter new people and fresh perspectives.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was introduced to CS by a friend who had made connections the world-over. When I traveled around the US I was lucky to stay with some incredibly fun, interesting, and generous people. I'm now looking forward to hosting in Glasgow and getting to know new people and this city better in the process.
Interests
Spending time with family and friends, seeing new places, meeting new people. Learning about different cultures and ideologies. Film, music, reading, writing. Sport, particularly football - I support a small Scottish team called Raith Rovers - and tennis. History. Philosophy. Social justice.

Music, Movies, and Books
Bob Dylan, Neil Young, folk, blues, Americana, rock 'n' roll, jazz, reggae, hip-hop, and lots in between. I'm always keen to be introduced to new music.
I'm a big film fan as well and would struggle to settle on all my favourites. But The Wire is up there with any TV series or film ever made.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My experiences growing up visiting and living on Iona, a small island in the Inner Hebrides, are among my most treasured. In many ways my life has been defined by my connection to Iona; through family roots and lifelong friendships. Traveling around North America for 3 and a half months, mostly by myself, is perhaps the most significant thing I've done in a couchsurfing context. I wrote a blog about my experiences if you fancy a read http://calmac2108.blogspot.co.uk/.
