About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Write thesis, keep it real.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Australia, but have lived for a time in Eritrea, where my parents were volunteers. I've been a bit of a bookworm/nerd all my life, but reached a point where I've realised that most of the people I love and love to be around are nerds too!!
I tend to over-intellectualize everything, when I'm not acting completely on the spur of the moment.
PHILOSOPHY
Plato got it right. Seek truth in what you are doing, and forget about what or where it might get you.
Trust people - life is too short to be in constant fear that everyone you meet may screw you over. Every once in a while, Someone probably will.
However...
Man is sometimes more, sometimes less of a hypocrite.
Remember that nobody is perfect, and that if you can't figure out how to forgive other people, you'll never be able to truly forgive yourself when you stuff up.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted quite a few people, and also met some fantastic people through CS whilst overseas last year!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had a score of couch surfers at my apartment I shared with two friends in Elwood, Melbourne. From the get-go, I was blown away by the amazing people I met. I loved showing them around, cooking with them, listening to music and watching movies.
Most of all, I loved the feeling of freedom which radiated from them, and made me feel like a tourist in my own city!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skinny dipping on Squeaky Beach at Wilson's Promontory - running naked with a few friends into an mind-bending sunset, and diving into the crisp, crystal-clear waters surrounded by natural park.
I was hiking in Laoshan National park, just outside of Tsingdao. I hadn't seen a Chinese tourist in about two hours, and the serenity was almost overwhelming. Discovering less than two hours to get back, and twice as far to go than I'd already come, I was unwilling for some stupid, pride-fuelled reason to just retrace my steps.
Thus.
Running for an hour and a half with reckless abandon along stone paths to catch the last bus down the mountain. Stopping to catch my breath for a moment, tieing a blood red love-knot to a branch, and suddenly having my mind blown by the sunset peeping through clouds and casting a dappled orange glow through the oaks. Making the bus with seven minutes to spare, legs absolutely spent, and avoiding a night sleeping on a bench with no food or water. Heaven must truly be like that feeling.
