About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meet new people and experience a new culture!
ABOUT ME
Hello all, my name is Cal. This year I took some time off of University (studying geography) to travel. I've been traveling for around 7-months and counting. So far it has been an incredible experience, I love meeting new people, seeing new places, and especially trying new foods. I really like to cook, and would be happy to learn new dishes, or show you a few of my own!
PHILOSOPHY
I think it's important to have an open mindset, and be willing to experience something new and different. Live a posative lifestyle, treat others with respect, and be happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've just started couchsurfing during my travels, so I haven't had the opporotunity to host anyone yet. But when I come home, I'm planning on opening up my spot to people so I can show people around my wonderful city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started couchsurfing with my brother midway through our travels in Thailand, and so far it's been wonderful. I think the best way to get to know a location is through it's local people, and couchsurfing helps to make that connection.
Interests
I've alays really enjoyed cooking and trying new cuisines. I also enjoy traveling, snowboarding, trekking/exploring, tennis, biking, and meeting new people. I also just started to play the piano, and can play a few mediocre songs!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a variety of music, and will listen to just about anything. During my travels I've started the Game of Thrones books, which are very entertaining.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favorite experiences traveling has been buying a motorcycle and riding from Saigon to Hanoi in Vietnam.
I had never driven a motorcycle in my life, so learning in Saigon traffic was terrifying. Traveling by bike was an incredible way to see the country. Rather than stopping off at major tourist areas, many nights were spent in random cities along the highway. It was a great introduction to the countyside and local people. Although my bike did break down a few times, I never crashed! What a way to experience a country...I highly recommend it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always willing to teach people to cook, or to just cook for them! I also am fluent in English, so I could help to teach that as well.
I'd like to learn about new cities, learning about its people, their culture, and its history.
