About Me

Hello, my name is Calum Stenner, I'm 24, and from the Gold Coast, Australia. I am outgoing, enthusiastic, open to experiences and cultures and all-around just stoked on life. When I'm not traveling around or surfing.

I am passionate about Aviation - so much so, it has been my Vocation and Education. I hold my PPL and CPL (Private Pilot License; Commercial Pilot License), I also hold a Bachelor in Aeronautical Science. I am currently employed by a large Australia airline in the role of Flight Planning.

My outlook on life revolves around globalisation. I want to experience as many cultures as I can and break down as many language barriers as I can, I believe the more exposed you are to foreign cultures the more well-rounded as a human you will become

I look at life through the lens of a small grey square. The more you learn, are exposed to, share, and experience - you realise the small square is actually a frame that grows with each new experience, and the grey background is actually just a small cloud among an otherwise large, bright blue sky. LEARN MORE, SHARE MORE, GROW MORE.

I have been travelling since 2016. My travel style has evolved many times over. Something I have recognised is the beauty in the in-betweens - the linking moments. To prolong these moments I've decided - I will take full control over transport and travel. How? By riding my Bicycle around the world.

November 25, 2019.
Penang, Malaysia to Edinburgh, Scotland.
See you along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to meet the people behind the country. It's all well and good to visit a country and contribute to their tourism sector by staying at hotels and hostels and seeing the sights. But, I feel the most important thing about visiting a new country is meeting the locals within. Learning from them and sharing stories, experiences, techniques and creating long-lasting friendships.
