CURRENT MISSION
Globe-trotter in love with Japan
ABOUT ME
Hi Everyone !
My name is Calypso, not a current name but it helps people to remember me ! This is a beautiful name chosen by my mother. I have one desire in my life: to see every country in the world ! Ok...not feasible, so at least Asia, my favourite part. That is why I decided to study one year in Japan, to see the country I'm dreaming of since I was 10 years old. I was dying all these years to see this beautiful country and to improve my language skills.
Now I'm here in Takarazuka, spending a wonderful time in Kansai. It enabled me to see other amazing countries like Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Korea. I finish soon my studies and next year the real serious life begins. Before that I would like to enjoy more Japan and visit this summer the places I didn't have the chance to see. I want to offer my mother a wonderful trip through Japan in August. She has never been outside Europe and it will be her first big trip. I would like so to thank her for my studies and trips all these years and show her how is the magical Japan !
We are both looking for adventure, we like to travel and we don't need much comfort. We are curious and eager to meet a lot of people from different nationalities. We like hiking, Japan is therefore ideal !
I am looking forward to meet you !
Thanks ;)
Calypso

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I never had couchsurfing experience, always staying in youth hostels. But this time I really want to communicate with people living in the country, it is so much more interesting !
I used to gather a lot with couchsurfers from around the world when I was studying in Germany.
Interests
Travels everywhere, cinema (mostly Asian), Japanese language, martial arts, photography, German Volksfests, Belgian chocolates, French food from the South-West, and of course Japan !
My interest for this country began with the samurai films I watched in my childhood !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Entering a big tiger cage, carrying a snake around my neck, visiting more than 16 cities in one month in South Asia. Sleeping in the cold south-asian trains. Drinking a 1 liter beer in 15 minutes at a German Volksfest, seeing amazing sunsets and sunrises in Asia, achieving my dream to live in Japan.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I would like to teach: I would like to speak about my country of course, and erase all the clichés that people have about the French. I want to make people come in France, especially in my region: the North. Even if people always go to South of France, they forget that the North has so much to offer ! I would like to share my experience with Belgians and Germans. I lived in both countries and there I feel like at home.
What I want to learn: how is your life in the country. Only you can tell me about this experience, reading in books, learning at school, living one year here is not enough !
