Maybe it’s random and meaningless,
But something about it feels special to me.

I have surfed couches a handful of times and each time I have met friendly, open people, friends. I’m looking forward to hosting for other travelers when I have the ability.

Platforms like this, that connect people and generate community, are valuable and precious.

I also feel this about work-exchanges and volunteer programs. If you are considering it, I encourage you to see what’s out there! It’s another way I’ve met genuine, interesting, community-oriented people, and learned skills. Let me know if you have questions about this sort of thing.

I lived mostly in New York City the past 12 years — some seasons in other places around the United States (California, Appalachia, New England). I love this city, but my spirit feels most at peace when I am outside, close to Nature. Other countries I’ve lived in are Albania (Tirana, 1 month) and Italy (near Bologna, 2 months)

I’ve worked many different jobs, and am currently a private chef.
