Overview
About Me
We are alive at the same time!
What are the odds?
Maybe it’s random and meaningless,
But something about it feels special to me.
I have surfed couches a handful of times and each time I have met friendly, open people, friends.
Platforms like this, that connect people and generate community, are precious!
I also feel this about work-exchanges and volunteer programs.
If you are considering it, I encourage you to see what’s out there!
It’s another way I’ve met genuine, interesting, community-oriented people.
I lived mostly in New York City the past 13 years — some seasons in other places around the United States (California, Appalachia, New England). So much to love about the city, but in February I moved upstate to spend the year living in closer connection to the natural world.
I’ve worked many different jobs, and am currently a chef & communications manager for a retreat center. We have retreats for GBTQ men and host rental groups of all kinds (all genders, orientations and identities including LGBTQ & cis/het).
We're always welcoming volunteers who want to enjoy the beautiful land (175 forested acres) and help out with housekeeping or projects around the property.
Thanks for reading my profile :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've met open-hearted, generous people through Couchsurfing and can’t wait to host surfers once I have the space to do so.
I like to listen to other peoples’ stories and perspectives on life and how to live well.
Staying in someone else’s space is a special glimpse into their life, it’s an honor!
