About Me

*I'm currently travelling for 10 weeks around South America and look forward to meeting other Couch Surfers in my travels!* ~ Sep-Nov 2024

G'day! I love adventures and getting outdoors, I've done many trips around Australia and I should be able to help you get the best out of your visit!
I try to be open-minded and I love hanging out with my guests (or my hosts, if I'm travelling). Couch Surfing is such a great way to make friends all over the world! If you request to stay with me, I expect you to be social and not hide away in your room.

I enjoy helping adventurous backpackers experience the best of Australia. In return, I've made friends all over the world and enjoy visiting old CS friends when I travel.

As I live in a tourism hotspot I receive many stay requests. Please ensure you've read my whole profile, and I prefer to host Surfers who have done some hosting themselves. If you are coming as a couple or group of friends, in your stay request please provide the names and a social media platform for each guest. I respect my home, privacy and security and like to know who is staying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have an interesting but very busy job, and that means it can be difficult to get away. Couch surfing is my opportunity to meet like-minded young people with an adventurous spirit. Your adventure inspires me to take a break and go travelling!

I have plenty of experience travelling around Australia and would say I give very good travelling advice for Australia. I love to hear travel advice for places I haven't been to, and I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and hearing stories of adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like metal, rock and blues music and I love movies of all sorts, thrillers in particular.
I like biographies and espionage novels, however my latest reading has been a variety of books on resilience/mental toughness and human performance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2022, I completed my first Ironman triathlon (3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run). I finished in 11 hours 38 minutes, which is great for a first timer!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm interested in learning about foreign cultures and different ways of life. I'm really interested to hear about your home and places I haven't seen yet!

Happy to answer all your questions about Australia!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can point you to some great places to camp or go for a swim. I can also tell you the best places to visit, eat and hang out while you're in Darwin. Lately I am usually quite busy with work and training but I'll show you around if I can. If I can't take you, at least I can point you in the right direction.

* I don't have home WiFi but you are welcome to hotspot off my phone. I may forget to offer but I am very happy to share. Please don't be shy to ask!

My house, of course! My guests have a very comfortable, private Queen room and the main bathroom. I provide bed linen and towels, and a welcome pack including tourist information and my house rules. Based on my experience, this is the most luxurious CS stay you're ever likely to have!

There is a nice pool in the apartment complex! Please feel free to use it any time.

* My house is not a hotel and there are no cleaning staff. I expect guests to clean up after themselves and generally respect my house and furniture as I do. Leave things in the condition you found them. I provide cleaning supplies and Surfers are asked to give your bedroom and your bathroom a quick clean before departure. This reduces a lot of strain on me as a host.

I am usually very happy to host guests up to three nights. Sometimes longer stays are ok - it really depends on how busy I am at the time.
I have a drink most nights and I will always offer my guests a drink. So, I greatly appreciate any guest who brings a bottle of red wine or a few beers to share over dinner and conversation. If you would like to cook for us during your stay, that would also be a very thoughtful gesture! 😊🍷
