About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy life. Explore the world. Create memories, both good and bad. Learn from everything, and everyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Been on the site for a bit, I have yet to surf or host...awkward... Just hasn't quite worked out yet. Buuut in my experiences in hostels and the few world places I have travelled, the people you meet are some of the most memorable things. I want to travel the world, yes, but I want to meet all of its incredible people along the way!

Interests

I enjoy escaping into nature just as much as I love exploring cities.

I can wander through museums, bookstores, parks, and mountains for hours and love everything about it all.

Good, sincere conversation with people is one of the greatest things about life. People are fantastic.

Society, urban design, sustainability, art, and architecture are some of the things I read up on with regularity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of music. Country and Pop are about the only genres I hesitate to listen to. Generally enjoy distortion and thoughtful lyrics. Some favorites: My Morning Jacket, Portugal. The Man, Grimes, Cage the Elephant, Modest Mouse, Courtney Barnett, etc.

Unfortunately, I don't read as much as I would like. Jack Kerouac is great, though.

I thoroughly enjoy movies but usually am just happy to have seen it and have a hard time criticizing them really. Some favorites: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mr. Nobody, the Babadook, Apocalypse Now, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The winter of 2013 I was stuck in Chicago after an architecture conference. A four day trip turned into a ten day adventure thanks to the polar vortex. Disregarding the potentially dangerous weather, I had as much fun as possible with new friends from the hostel in an unfamiliar city. So very unforgettable.

Teach, Learn, Share

Pretty solid drummer, or so I am told... I would love to teach anyone interested or just jam with other musicians.

Sketching, specifically in an architectural sense is a hobby I practice for school. Potentially watercolors too, though I'm a little rougher there.

Outside of that, I love sharing culture, background, goals and those sort of weird immaterial personal things. That gets interesting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A curious, weird, fun, new friend! Good conversation and lots of honesty! I would love to hang if you wanna hang, but if you're busy, I can't hold that against you. I'm a quiet house guest, I'll behave like a sane and respectful human being, and I'll help out any way I can! IT'LL BE AWESOME.
