About Me

I'm a 23 year old guy from Sydney, Australia setting off on a year's working visa for the U.S.A! Recently graduated, I've been working in hospitality still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do in life. I'm extremely easy-going and relaxed and enjoy meeting new people, partying and hanging out with friends and playing video games or reading in my down time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Before settling into my working Visa I'm planning on travelling a little on the West Coast (mostly California). Since I'm travelling alone I thought it would be great to have at least one person to give me advice on what to see or where to go as I'm not the best at planning by myself. I'm also excited to meet new people and really take in the authentic American experience!

I've had several friends host couch surfing guests here in Sydney before, have met a handful of them and have had only positive experiences so I figured it would be a great way to go about my travels.

Interests

I'm fairly social and enjoy the company of people, but when I have down time I'm a massive video game nerd and spend hours browsing the internet.

I am very open-minded and enjoy all things creative and artistic (this includes body art, I have 10 tattoos currently with the intent of getting many more).

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty easy where popular media is concerned, you'll usually find me listening to pop music (Britney Spears is a goddess) or occasionally heavier rock/punk/metal when I'm in the mood

Movies and books are basically the same - whatever people recommend I am open to giving a go!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Booked a one-way ticket to the states with very little plans - let the adventure begin!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've said it already like twice but I'm very open minded, the beauty of travelling is that you get to take in new cultures while sharing some of your own and although Australia and the U.S.A. are fairly similar in culture there is definitely room for give and take from both parties.

As a graduate of Sociology and Gender Studies I am actively interested in social issues and the behaviour of people and am always up for a healthy discussion of these matters (sounds like a fancy way of saying "I love to gossip")

What I Can Share with Hosts

Although I have moved out of my Sydney home and have yet to find (semi) permanent residence in the States, I would be more than happy to open my doors (and couches) for anyone gracious enough to do the same. When in Sydney I would be proud to show anyone around and as a gay man I definitely know Oxford St (the gay bar district of Sydney) like the back of my hand so could guide you for a fun time!
