About Me

Edit: Before you request to stay with me, I think you should know I do not live in Savannah. I live in a small town about 30 minutes from downtown. It is, however, very easy to get to Savannah from my house.

Currently a person living in a humble abode among the pines of South Carolina. A former piano player now turned painter; a creative eye always on the hunt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Open to meeting some interesting people and gaining a new perspective.

Interests

Art!! I love drawing, painting, and viewing art. My preferred mediums are charcoal, pen and ink, pastel, and oils. I love the Impressionists, Post-Impressionists, Vermeer, Rembrandt's and Rubens's drawings, and anything by Toulouse-Lautrec or Manet. I like photography, too. I enjoy music, both playing and listening. I'm a classically trained pianist and I can look like I know what I'm doing with a guitar. My non creative interests include hiking/being in nature, debates and discussions, as well as finding and experiencing unique things.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Beatles are the greatest! I'm open to most forms of music, I especially like Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical music, most notably Bach, Lully, Monteverdi, Mozart, Debussy, Vivaldi, and obscure baroque Dutch composers. I also enjoy indie and international music (flamenco, etc.)

I'm really into movies, as I tend to draw a lot of inspiration from them. Some of my favorites include 'Some Like it Hot,' 'Rear Window,' 'Amadeus,' 'Birdman,' 'Fiddler on the Roof,' 'Life of Brian,' 'The Grand Budapest Hotel,' 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' etc etc etc.

In high school I was obsessed with Ernest Hemingway, so I've read, and still love, most of his major novels. Memorable books include 'Ivanhoe,' 'Count of Monte Cristo,' 'East of Eden,' 'Crime and Punishment' 'Three Musketeers,' and 'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.'
