Overview
About Me
I'm a 2nd year university student at St Andrews studying French, beginner's Spanish and beginner's Russian. I'm originally from England and grew up in a pretty small farmer's village in the north-west called Hesketh Bank. I'm really interested in languages and literature, I love to read and I obviously enjoy travelling! I'm passionate about poetry, music (I love to play guitar) and I like to work out too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think this kind of experience gives a more intimate insight into the culture of the country that you're staying in, and I always love to make new friends in different countries. I've had quite a few host family experiences and during my travels I've met so many interesting people. I guess I'm ultimately here because I'm really interested in people, and not just places.
Interests
Learning languages, reading and writing poetry, literature, music, nature (I live right by the sea!), working out, playing guitar, philosophy, art...
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite bands are Grateful Dead, Aesop Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Johnny Cash, Fauve, Nekfeu, Parazitii, Гуф, and Protest the Hero.
Some of my favourite movies are Django Unchained, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Casablanca, Wolf of Wall Street and The Iron Giant, Interstellar, Apocalypse Now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to the countryside in Romania for a day, ate traditional food and walked along hay bales with an 90 year old Romanian couple. Such a surreal experience and probably the greatest achievement in my life of language learning!
