About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a Washington, DC native living in Brooklyn, NY after 8 years in Los Angeles. As a designer, I'm continuous curious about how other people live. My job is to research complex social problems and strategize creative solutions. Nothing makes me happier than cooking my friends dinner at my apartment. I live for small interactions in my neighborhood of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn and I'm endlessly intrigued by the diversity that New York City affords. While I'm ever so happy to be based in NYC, I'm always on the prowl for my next adventure, be it hiking in upstate NYC or flying across the globe. I love that Couchsurfing challenges my perspective and exposes me to insights from other people.
TRAVELING STYLE
I'm a go-with-the-flow traveller who appreciates being part of the minutiae of everyday life, just as much as a grand tour around town. I'm kind and respective, funny and relaxed.
PHILOSOPHY
To whom much is given much is expected. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Stay curious. Stretch your comfort zone. Be kind.
"What are you going to do with your one wild and precious life?" Mary Oliver
"Do not go gentle into that good night" Dylan Thomas
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The first time I stayed with strangers was with a family in Penang, Malaysia. They had never met me, yet they opened their home to me and insisted that I be treated like a special guest. Reciprocity and interpersonal exchange is what it's all about.
Interests
Art and design are really what really defines my life. In addition to my work in the design world, I'm fascinated by interior design, modern art, architecture, paper crafts, book designs, blogs, photography, gardening, and food. I am also an athlete. I played basketball at university, and also was competitive in swimming, soccer, and basketball.
