About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world meeting new people and having new experiences one couch at a time!

ABOUT ME

I recently finished up my undergrad at SFU as a bachelor of environmental science, concentrating in physical geography. I also did an extended minor in theatre production. A very weird combination but I wanted to be doing something that I enjoy so I did! Theatre tech stuff is a hobby of mine that keeps me sane and also helps to pay the bills currently. While my education is important to me, I have little to no intentions on using it as I want to get into an aviation related career whether as a commercial pilot or an air traffic controller. Aviation is where my passion lies and plays a big role in my life. I currently hold a private pilots license and a gliding instructor license. I work as a gliding instructor for the air cadet gliding program (the best youth program ever btw) which allows me to pursue my passion, help teens pursue theirs, and get paid to do it! :P

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to couch surfing by a coworker who has hosted many people. I fell in love with the idea and wanted to use it on my travels. I have had the pleasure of meeting some great people on my travels around Europe. I hope to be able to host in the near future. Until then I can meet up for drinks, show you around town, or simply meet you at the airport and get you on your way. I have also gone to a few local couch surfing events in Vancouver where I have met some great people from all over the world. I hope to continue to meet awesome people outside of my home town.

Interests

Along with flying I have many other interests. I sometimes want to do so many things at once that I usually end up doing nothing, which I need to fix. Maybe you can help :) I recently started becoming more active, going to the gym, running, hiking, cycling. Would love to meet someone interested in similar activities to keep each other company. Some other things that interest me are camping, crossfit, yoga, hanging out with friends, catching up on tv shows, watching movies, and listening to music (pretty much have music going all the time). I would also love to travel the world at some point in my life, hopefully sooner than later. The first place I would like to travel to is Europe, as I had a brief taste of it when on a trip in high school and have been wanting to go back ever since.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pretty much anything with a good beat/catchy lyrics

Movies: Romantic comedies are my favourite. I tend to stay away from horror/scary movies, not because they are scary but because they don't interest me.

Books: Just recently started reading more. Some recent books include Hunger games trilogy, Steve Jobs Biography, and Fifty Shades :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching Cirque du Soleil's Amaluna - It was my first ever cirque show. I was just in amazement of the extremely high skill level of all of the performers and also the total integration of every technical aspect that made for a seamless and wonderful experience.

Flying a glider solo for the first time before I could even drive a car by myself.

The shear beauty of the white and blue architecture of the Greek islands, in particular Mykonos.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to glide, however it would be prohibitively expensive..... Maybe ill just stick to being a good tour guide :)

I would love to learn how to sail. So if any of you couch surfers need a hand on your sail boat let me know!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

- A place to stay or a friendly face to greet you in Vancouver, Canada when you come to visit :)
- Evening company chatting and sharing stories
- Cooking a meal or two, maybe even some baking!

Countries I’ve Visited
