ABOUT ME

33. Female. White chic. From Texas. Southern but not country.... Yes there's a difference. ;-)

I work with kids with behavior problems. I love trying new foods & restaurants, going to the beach, watching movies, going to art museums, and anything to do with photography!! I'm an amateur at it but love taking photos anyways.
At home me & my son (16yrs old and much taller than me) play cards, watch Hell's Kitchen, go to parks and walk trails, go to the beach to hang out and enjoy the waves. We take road trips to see other towns, cities, states....to try different things and learn about other cultures.
We love going to state fairs, amusement parks, & festivals. And we just started learning how to surf.... Maybe I should say, learning how to paddle out. Lol. Definitely beginners but very excited to learn.

What goes around comes around; so treat others the way you want to be treated.
I love traveling. It makes my heart happy. New people, new restaurants, new art, new culture = life experiences and memories with new friends.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to travel the world. It's been my dream for as long as I can remember. I've spent most of my life working and spending too much time focusing on the things that won't matter in 5 years from now. So when I was about 25, I made a change in my life and have continue to grow from there. I went to college to pursue an education in psychology & human behavior. Then when I was 31, I picked up & moved to Hawaii after living my whole life in Texas. Now at almost 33, I'm doing it again, picking up & moving to north virginia/DC. I love the beach & have never lived anywhere that snows.... So this move will be a shock. But I'm excited for this next chapter in my life. I will be taking a road trip across the states and hope to meet awesome people along the way. I want to share my experiences and life stories and hear other people's stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My roommate has been a Couchsurfer for awhile now. She's the one that told me about it. We moved to North Virginia//close to D.C. last summer. We are renting a couple rooms in North Virginia so we can only offer a futon for now. I´ve already met so many other couchsurfers in Virginia, Maryland, Hawaii, and now Japan...that are from all over the world. So thankful my friend told me about couchsurfing. I hope to one day host every couchsurfer I have met so far :)

Chilling at the beach. Conversation over coffee or over wings & a drink. Going to a book store or a library and reading about psychology, home improvement, architecture, criminalology, art, food, gardening, and DIY projects. I want to learn all that I can in this life. I've wasted too much of my life worrying about the small stuff. Life's too short so spend your time being happy. Loving fully. Laughing often. And soaking in all the knowledge you can.

Crap..... forgot to mention 80's flicks.... Beverly Hills Cop, the Goonies, Encino Man,... I love movies. We didn't go on vacations growing up unfortunately, but we did watch movies together. :-) a lot of good family memories doing that together.

Swam with a beluga whale---- at sea world. Lol. But I'm still counting it as awesome.
Went on a whale tour in Hawaii and saw Humpback Whales.
Ziplined and completed an obstacle course in the trees in Virginia.
Went horseback riding on the beach in Hawaii.
I´ve participated in a Color Run and a Mud Run.

I can teach you all about American food and American movies. :)
I would love to learn different languages and I am currently practicing a couple. Maybe we could bounce some words or pronunciations off of each other. I am open to answering any questions you have about the United States and would love to learn more about your country as well.
