About Me

Just quit my job as an English teacher in Seoul, Korea (after almost 3 years). decided to spend my savings traveling the world.

Ready to explore the world to better understand myself and the people I come across.

Always up and open to conversations, good times, and exploration.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The world needs more selfless people and experiences; I try and do what I can to walk on that path.

Also, II beleive the best way to view a new land is to walk like the locals. So staying with a CS host seems to be the best way to do that.

Interests

I don't want to spend much time on this so here we go:

I'm into fitness. A fit body equals a fit mind in my opinion.

The arts (Writing, music, painting, conceptual, multimedia)

Martial arts (mainly Capoeira),

Fun/intellectual conversations, bantering, "Shooting the shit" (a.k.a.- hanging out)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste in music. I prefer indie and underground genres of music.

To name a few: Arthur Russell, Death Grips, , FKA Twigs, Mykki Blanco, Little Dragon; genres I currently invest time in now are deep house (and it's sub-genres), ambient, and experimental folk (there's more but I don't like naming off too much).

I'm into independent directors like Gaspar Noe, Darren Aranofsky (before "Noah"), Jean-Luc Goddard, Harmony Korine, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Alexander McQueen, and Nicolas Refn to name a few.

I could go on about comic books and literary books. My favorite comic writer is Grant Morrison and a few of my favorite novelists are Herman Hesse, Ivan Turgenov, and James Baldwin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I worked in Estes Park, Colorado (located next to the Rocky Mountains) in the Summer of 2013, a coworker hiked and got lost in the Rocky Mountain National Park for a night with nothing but a lighter, and a bag of potato chips. Early the next morning at 4:30 we had to hike back into town so I could get to work on time.

Completed a 10-day Vipassanna meditation course (it gets intense, but worth it).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook some f**king awesome vegan food.

You can come along with me and exercise, participate in meditation, OR do a yoga session with me (both are dope).

We can do banter (my favorite sport) down the rabbit hole of endless topics.

Oh, and I can teach the Korean alphabet and survival Korean language (if you have any desire).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Intriguing views of ethics, philosophy. We can definitely exchange music and other interests within the arts.

I can teach you the martial art of Capoeria, and make some bomb-ass vegan food if given the opportunity and resources.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Germany, Hungary, India, Malaysia, Morocco, Nepal, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand
