About Me

I'm very passionate about life and completely in love with meeting new people! To be able to share experiences and stories with people from several different cultures and backgrounds is what makes me interested in Couchsurfing. I see myself as a very talkative girl who also loves listening to others!

I am currently studying in Newcastle as an exchange student and wish to meet as many places and people in Europe as time (and money) allows me to!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that meeting locals is the best way to really get to know a place and its culture! Meeting new people by itself is already an amazing thing, but it also gives me the opportunity to experience cities in a way that not every tourist has the chance to!
I'm very new in this travelling life, so I would love to hear some tips and learn from others experiences! Also, I chose to do this exchange program abroad in order to push me out of my comfort zone, and what better way to do that than by sharing stories and time with people from completely different cultures???

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I said, I'm very new in this whole "travelling thing", but very excited to change that during my time in Europe!! Unfortunately, I live in a small student room back in Brazil, therefore I have no hosting experience. As soon as I can afford to live somewhere bigger, I plan to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books

I must confess I can be quite mainstream when it comes to music hahaha Some of my favourite artist are Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, Tove Lo and Katy Perry. Regarding bands, I love indie rock, Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand is one of my favourite tunes EVER!!

I'm a sucker for Superhero movies, specially the ones part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! (Still not over Endgame to be honest). Apart from that, my taste in movies can easily be divided in three categories. The first one is Sci-Fi, this includes Inception, Arrival, Donnie Darko, Interstellar, The Martian, Lucy, Snowpiercer, Predestination and Star Wars. The second category is made of titles such as High School Musical, Now You See Me, Kick-Ass, Kingsman, How to Train Your Dragon, Long Shot, Ocean's 8, Baby Driver and Inside Out; basically any movie that is funny and cheerful! Last but not least, the third category has some of the most incredible movies I've ever seen and had me questioning my existence in this world for days: Her, Jojo Rabbit, Modern Times, Dead Poets Society, A Beautiful Mind, mother!, Black Swan, Gone Girl, Parasite and many more!!

Since I graduated from High School my reading habits have dropped from 10 to 2 books a year in average. :( Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Harry Potter are some of my favourite titles!! I'm currently re-reading Anne Frank's Journal since I plan to visit her House/Museum in Amsterdam.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 12, I planed a whole trip to another Brazilian state by myself! Me, my mother and my grandma saved some money so we could visit my uncle who we haven't seen for years (he lived and still lives in Rio de Janeiro). But since my mother's skills with internet weren't really good, the whole planing was under my responsibility: booking hotels and flights, as well as buying tickets for the places we wanted to visit.
I had never travelled by plane before that so I had no experience at all and made some mistakes along the way. I learned from them and I can proudly say that I've been improving my "travel skills" ever since.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very interested in learning about other places' culture and habits, and how them differentiate from mine! We could talk about this for hours and I would never get tired of it! I also love to learn new words in different languages and could teach you some in Portuguese as well!!
Moreover, I believe that sharing life experiences and stories with others is one of the best ways to learn and grow!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I wish I could say cooking, but unfortunately that's not one of my abilities. Unless you are looking for a few sick days due to food poisoning hahahah
In spite of that, I am always willing to help with whatever necessary (slicing ingredients, washing dishes, etc.)!! Also, I would love to share knowledge about my language, culture and stories.
