About Me
Hey everyone,
My name is Camila and I am currently living in London. I joined couch surfing for the first time 4 years ago in Amsterdam and after a long break ( studying and working) I am back to travelling and maybe host (for the first time!). Besides browsing which destination should I go next, I also do indoor climbing, crossfit, yoga and volunteer work! (Yes, busy life). I am also into cooking classes and exhibitions.
But don't expect a busy tourist when hosting me, I am a slow traveller.
About hosting: no more than 2 nights as I share the flat with another person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When travelling through South America last summer, I often felt alone as I don't engage in a conversation quite easily. (blame my shy side) So, by joining this community again I believe that barrier will be overcome.
Aaaand, probably one should not say this but the money issue is also a plus. If I can save money on accommodation and spend it on local food and pay my host a dinner that is something to consider!
Interests
Cooking classes, exhibitions, indoor and outdoor climbing, yoga, reading and crossfit.
Music, Movies, and Books
An eclectic listener. But my favourites are Led Zeppelin, Metallica and AC/DC.
The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of my favourite movies. As well the Godfather trilogy and Batman.
Books .. Dostoyevsky, Daniel Silva, Pablo Neruda and Gabriel Garcia Marquez is who I am reading lately.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
5 day trekking to Machu Picchu! A dream come true. The bonding with people you don't know and the arrival to the citadel before sunrise is something I will never gorget.
Teach, Learn, Share
Staying with the locals is the real experience and the most genuine way to know a country. Issues such education and politics are not often publicly discussed during touristic tours and that is one of the reasons why I avoid those.
I will be very pleased to share with the hosts my Portuguese people, as well as my insight of living in another country. And yes, by all means you can ask me how I feel about Brexit.
Countries I’ve Visited
Brazil, England, Finland, France, Italy, Peru, Turkey, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
