About Me

Hi, I'm Camila!

I'm Italian, currently living in Italy, but was born in Cordoba, Argentina. I moved to Italy when I was 3 but I still speak Spanish with my family.
I studied in a Social Sciences High school in a small town in Veneto, in northern Italy, and have currently just finished my first year of Chinese at Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

I lived in China as an exchange student (AFS exchange program) from August 2016 to June 2017, and attended there my 4th year of High School. I was in Tangshan, a 7 million and a half people city in Hebei province. My program was a Boarding School program, which means I had to stay in school during the week and spend the weekend with a host family, which gave me the possibility of living like a real Chinese student: being in class 10 or more hours a day, wearing uniforms (which we don't have in Italy), living in a dormitory with other students, experiencing Chinese culture classes such as Chinese opera, Kung Fu, Calligraphy... I also had the possibility of traveling a lot during that year, so I visited Habin, Hainan, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Now I'm a University student and an AFS volunteer, but I still love traveling more than anything else so, whenever I'm free, I book a flight ticket and visit new places!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet new people from all around the world, visit new places and have the possibility of being hosted by locals who might even teach me new interesting things about their home country and culture!

It's the first time I try something as unique as Couchsurfing and I am so excited to start!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to music all the time, I love it, and I like so many genres I wouldn't even be able to list all of them, from classical music to rock, rap, pop, reggae,... the list can go on and on.

I love movies, I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan (my favourite movie is Grand Budapest Hotel, it's just too good!), but I watch any kind of movies, other than horror...too scary!

I used to read a lot when I was younger and even if I don't have all that time anymore, I'm trying to make myself read more. Still a work in progress!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess that living in China for 10 months was definitely the most amazing thing that I did so far, expecting to do a lot more in the future!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Italian, Spanish and even some Chinese language if you are interested in it (not French yet, that's a huge work in progress, very far from being completed yet); I can share some curiosities I've learned in my trips around the world (I love all the historical and cultural "fun facts") and I'd love to learn new ones from the places I'll visit in the future!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with you my experience in China and my life in Italy and in Argentina.
I'm not a good cook but I enjoy it and try my best, especially when I get to cook with someone else!
I'm a good listener and I truly enjoy talking to people and listen to them, so if you need a friend to talk to, I'm here!
