About Me

CURRENT MISSION

¡Travel and learn new things!

ABOUT ME

I consider myself an easygoing person, very cheerful and open minded. I like to experience different things, travel to new places, taste weird and exotic flavours, have an everyday conversation with someone I don't know and the most important is that I think there is always something to learn about these things.

I'm also a supportive and welcoming person, that is willing to help someone who needs it (no matter what problem they can have) and I believe that if everyone thought like that relationships between people would be much more pleasant. Moreover, I'm a good listener and counsellor.

PHILOSOPHY

I think vegetarianism and an active lifestyle is the key for a healthy and a peaceful life.

Having a balanced diet and sleeping well allows me to fulfil my goals.

Understanding the cultural and personal differences between people is fundamental for establishing good relationships in life.

Reading and writing is necessary in life, that allows you to become an open-minded person with a wide perspective.

Hard work and commitment are requirements for a successful life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I do not have experience in the Couchsurfing page as this is the first time that I created my profile. Nonetheless, i have hosted some fiends at my house a couple of years ago. For example, I lived in France for 4 months in the year 2008, there I got to know many people from around world. Some years later, i hosted them when they came to Colombia. This was an amazing experience, as I was able to share them the colombian culture, I showed them historic places in Bogotá, the best night clubs, and took them to the most delicious restaurants in the city.

Interests

I like to study and learn a bit about everything, that's why I decided to study an Engineer and a Social Science degree at the same time. I also love to learn about different cultures and visit new places, therefore I try to travel constantly, especially in summer and winter vacations.

In my free time, I like to read, watch documentaries or movies, listen music, have a nice meal, drink a glass of wine or a good beer. I'm a very active person that's why I do a lot of sports. For example, I practice Yoga, I try to bike whenever I can, I walk in the city, but I also love hiking in different places in Colombia, seeing different landscapes captivates me and reminds of the compromise that i have as an environmental engineer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- With some friends we created a non-profit foundation called ATALANTA. The foundation's aim is to help girls, who live in harsh conditions, to finish their high school degree so they can enter in the future to an university. In order to do this, the foundation's members become mentors for the girls, and they are in charge of helping them with their homework, and of providing them with the necessary tools to become open minded persons and conscious of all the opportunities they have in their lives.

- Un Techo Para mi País. I participated in the construction of wood houses in Bogota’s poor neighborhoods for people who lived in harsh conditions

- I have travelled to many parts of my country: the caribbean coast, climbed mountains in the Cocuy's National Park, swam in the Amazon River, meet indigenous people from different regions, I cross the desert of la Tatacoa, rafting in San Gil, snorkling in the beautiful Providencia island, camping in the ancient Tayrona Park. And also:

- I drank Yagé with the Cofanes' indians from Ecuador.
- I travelled the entire Ecuador's coast
- I travelled to many french cities
- I celebrated new year in Venice, Italy
