About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel, learn new languages, have life changing experiences and meet new friends along the way. Do yoga around the world. Run around the world. Run a half marathon on every continent (minus Antarctica, I'm fine leaving that out)

ABOUT ME

US American by birth, Mexican/Senegalese/Puerto Rican/Creole/Choctaw/Cherokee+ MIXED by heritage, Dominican in my heart.
I love learning languages. I'm bilingual in Spanish/English, but I've also officially studied Arabic(beg) and Chinese (Int). I studied Italian and Ki-Swahili in elementary school. I'm closer to picking up fluency in Italian, French, and Portuguese, but I can read them pretty well, just a matter of learning the grammar which is picking up :) Love languages!

I love to travel (redundant, I know). My friends know me as the world traveler. But they also know me as the laid back, outgoing, crazy, multilingual, clumsy girl! Oh, and I'm that crazy one that likes to run half marathons, and is thinking..just thinking about doing a marathon one day in the distant future.

PHILOSOPHY

Live. Love. Laugh. No regrets. Life is an adventure, enjoy it. Life's too short, eat dessert first.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I also surfed in Lima, Peru with my sister. I met up with a LOT of people for NYE 2016 in Vegas this year! It was pretty epic!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen many beautiful places: Achtun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave in Belize had to be the best experience I have had yet. Also, climbing sand dunes in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, Spain. Drinking wine on the rooftop on my last night in Valencia. Camping in the Merzouga desert in Morocco!

The most amazing thing that I've seen however, is life. How life is different yet the same wherever you go. No matter the language or culture. At the core, everyone is about the same thing, having fun, making good memories, enjoying delicious food!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn more French, Arabic, Portuguese and whatever language I can! I also want to learn guitar.

I want to share recipes. I'm a foodie.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy meeting new people and talking about our travel experiences! I'm from Washington DC and if there are any souvenirs I can bring them for you!! I'm also a decent cook and I could make you dinner a night or two! I also like to treat my hosts(couchsurfing or not) to a coffee (or something stronger !)

When I stayed with my host family in Mexico, I made some soul food for them, they got to try some African American cuisine, I love to share the cuisine I grew up on! I also introduced them to Old Bay!
