About Me

Hello!! My name is Camilla! I lived in the United States 🇺🇸 for 7 years and have recently moved back home to São Paulo, Brazil 🇧🇷. My first experience living abroad was when I was 16 years old. I was in an 6-month exchange program in Ottawa, Canada 🇨🇦 and completely fell in love with the outside world. When I was 18, I received a scholarship from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and moved to the USA. I graduated with a Chemistry Major and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Minor. I also received a certificate in women’s studies. Afterwards, I moved to Duluth, Minnesota to pursue a Masters degree.

I am very passionate about languages, politics, philosophy, science, climate, and the world. I also love traveling and meeting new people. I consider myself very free-spirited and spontaneous. I am not much of a planner. I admire kindness, friendship, and ethics.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much everything. Most of my playlists are very eclectic. I’ve been very into Brazilian music lately. I’m a lover of music festivals and such. I could not think of a favorite movie but my current favorite TV show is “the Handmaids Tale”. About books: way too many but here’s a good one: “Women who run with the wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estés.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My whole entire journey living abroad is pretty amazing I would say. Definitely something I am proud of.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, Portuguese and Chemistry if you are interested in any of those. What I love the most about teaching is how much I get to learn about new things, cultures, and languages. If you’ve traveled places, I want to hear all of your stories! If you would like to hear some of my crazy ones: grab a beer and let’s chat!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I won’t have much to share when it comes to physical things but I sure have a lot of interesting stories and random knowledge... I can also buy drinks and cook Brazilian food!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
