ABOUT ME

I have been travelling all my life and it is one of the things I just can't live without. I enjoy learning new things and getting to know new people, and I believe that life-changing moment can be anywhere, hidden in an otherwhise average day. Life is what you make it to be.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to learn something new every day and believe that the ultimate goal is to better oneself and become more compassionate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I tried couch surfing after having met a lot of lovely people through my friend who hosted a lot, and have only had wonderful experiences. I have met many great people who have broadened my horizon and made me more open to meeting strangers and I hope to be able to host more in the future!

Interests

I like being outdoors, whether it is hiking in the woods or mountains, chilling in the park or sailing. I love fishing from shore or boat, my biggest hobby is photography, and I also enjoy reading and interesting discussions over a cup of good tea, coffee or wine.
I am very interested in both tea and coffee culture and as I have been traveling around China with my job I've been able to learn so much about local tea varieties and their production.

I love challenging myself to doing things I thought I wouldn't dare to to or things that in the moment might make me feel uncomfortable but in the long run will make me stronger and more confident.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading but a comprehensive list is hard to put together! I love everything by Margaret Atwood, I grew up reading everything by Tolkien, as well as Harry Potter and the moomin series. Now I try to read as diverse and intersectional as possible, both in the authors gender, sexuality and nationality and also the form of the prose (and language if possible) .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking in holy mountains in China, sleeping in monasteries and watching the sun rise every day as the day's hike started was extraordinary and something I will never forget.

Also, the day a friend and I discovered a magical place in a very unexpected location on an island I've driven past my whole life without going ashore on, leaving us breathless and thankful for walking the road not taken by, remains one of my most amazing experiences.

The most daring thing I have done was accepting an offer to do a singing gig in Shanghai - nerve wrecking but extremely rewarding!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am constantly expanding my knowledge and learning new things, whether through YouTube, coursera, books or friends. I hope you can teach me something new!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a friendly, fun person who is always up for adventure, or just a conversation on the couch. I have a lot of different interests and I always want to learn more! I am continously exploring different forms of art and am always willing to share the knowledge I've obtained along the way. I can teach you: photography, video and sound editing, watercolor and ink painting, drawing, fishing, singing, poetry, and politics!
