My name's Camille, I am 25 old and just finished my Anthropology studies !
I just started to travel again after this long covid situation.
Fixe years ago I studied one year abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico ! Ten months travelling and discovering America. I stayed long periods of time in Mexico to fully experience the Mexican culture. I studied one market in my neighborhood there. I wrote an article and produced a video about a botanical garden in that city. I also travelled in Colombia, United States and Canada. While I was travelling, I met wonderful people thanks to Couchsurfing. We are all friends now. We built real connections by choosing attentively who we wanted to meet. If I send a request to a host, it’s because I want to meet the person behind that profile. If I find no interesting profiles, I choose an hostel or airbnb. I want natural and interesting meetings. Today, in december 2023, I am coming back to travelling and couchsurfing while visiting Madrid for the third time. I would love to meet locals people to enjoy the city together and share about our life experiences.

I am a very active person. I love to have busy days. I need to create and think daily. That's a really important aspect of my life and personality. Actually, I am really into gardening, especially into heirloom seed production and learning about the varieties potential (beauty, nutrition,…). Food quality, food sovereignty and health are important subjects to me.

I try also try to draw/paint one drawing each day to improve and to have fun. I will take my sketchbook with me to Madrid. I use a mix of watercolor, pencils, inks and collage. Don’t hesitate to join me for some urbain sketching !

I also love to cook a lot. I cook on a daily basis. Sweets, savory dishes, drinks,… I always try new recipes. I would love to cook with you or for you. Sharing my food culture with my couchsurfing hosts is always an unique experience !

I can't spend a day without listening music and dancing. I love dancing but I have very specific musical tastes. My body and soul belong to funky, groovy, folk and disco music. Thanks to my new roommate who is really into classical music, I found some really great artists that I would have never thought they existed ! I could also share with you those treasures.
I am always looking for places where I can dance freely on inspiring music ! Want to go dancin’ ?

My current projets :
Creating a new urban garden full of flowers, plants to eat and plants to heal !
Becoming a seed production expert to share this knowledge to every interested gardener.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing because I want to meet beautiful people and experience unique moments with them. All of my couchsurfing experiences were SO amazing that I want to repeat the experience and meet new friends all around the world. As an ethnologist, I highly value meeting people. I travel to understand how people live and think.

Sadly, I don't have yet my own place to welcome travelers, but as soon as possible, I will open my house to people !

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE MUSIC ! As you already read about that before, I won’t repeat it ahah. All I want is rythme and joy to danceeee on it !

About films, sorry but it's not my main interest. Generally, isn't my cup of tea... I generally prefer to go at the museum, walk in the streets with friends or thinking about new projects!

Finally, I love to read. I appreciate particularly philosophical and scientific books ( biology, nutrition, but also social sciences like anthropology, or sociology ). I am actually reading about how gardening, about how to create a more conscious and ethical science and about cooking, as usual ahaha !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Growing sorghum in a very hard and heavy clay soil was a big challenge ! I managed to grow heathly and big plants full of seeds for a great seed preservation organisation. I know, the last extraordinay experience for a gardenerd ! :P

I truly love to learn more about quite everything possible ! I am super curious and I love to share knowledges and thoughts with people.

I love deep talks about everything. Creating trust and bond is the key !

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to hang out to discover the places all around. If possible, wild natural places but also dynamic and inspiring places like art exhibitions for example. However, I truly believe in the simplest moments like cooking, talking and laughing together ! That's the most important : connection ! :D
