Hi there,
My name is Camille and I'm from Mauritius. I grew up in Madagascar, Mozambique and the Republic of Congo before moving to France where I currently live.

Interests

I'm a PhD student in Earth Sciences, (utopically?) trying to make the world a better place thanks to my little rocks. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that I'm a geologist. This implies that I've been collecting rocks and minerals everywhere I've been since a few years. I think I might become one of those eccentric old ladies with tons of cristals in her house in a few years. Tons of cristals and tons of dogs aswell. Yup, I love four-legged animals and could spend hours talking about how cute they are.

What else could I say ? I'm an easygoing optimist in love with Africa, I enjoy going to the theater and the movies, writing stories, binging series on that streaming platform that we all know. I am some kind of tea-aholic but since it lowers the iron levels in my blood, I'm thinking about substituting it with something else but I'm not sure that beer and wine are allowed at work.
I'm afraid of lizards and might have a little trypophobia.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've had many different phases towards music over the past few years. Don't know if I should be proud of it but I do believe I'm unbeatable when it comes to French RnB from 2000-2010. I've also spent my teenage years listening to metal (quite sure my parents have kept a good memory of those years), but now my Spotify playlist looks like one of those weird (but extraordinary) patchworks that my grandma sewed a few years ago, including J.Cole, Charles Aznavour, AC/DC, Princess Nokia, Earthgang, The Kinks, Niska, Frank Sinatra, 50 Cent, Queen, P-Square, etc. I could spend hours and hours on Youtube discovering new artists on Colors.

Movies: The Godfather, Bohemian Rhapsody, Gran Torino, Dead Poets Society, Shutter Island, Seven, American History X, Le Prénom, Rear Window, The Lion King, Gone Girl, The Revenant, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (+romantic Christmas movies each year from october to january)

Series: Peaky Blinders, Sherlock, Sons of Anarchy, Brooklyn Nine Nine, Friends, Mindhunter, etc.

Books: I am a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes and have a taste for detective stories (especially Maxime Chattam's). I love Ray Bradbury and Edgar Allan Poe. I've also always liked French litterature in general (Victor Hugo, Alfred de Musset, Alphonse Allais, Charles Baudelaire, etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I do believe that life is an extraodinary adventure in itself...
But being chased by jackals during one of my jog sessions after work in Burkina Faso might be one of them!
