Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to live with my very good friend Cerise, but now we've grown up, and I moved in a lovely two-rooms-flat, in the center of Paris. It's close to the Gare de l'Est, if you want to locate it on a map (who knows). You can come home whenever you want ! I don't have much comfort to offer, but something like pillows on the ground and a good breakfast is always possible :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my lifetime, I've both hosted and surfed with quite a lot of people, and it's always been a good time.
Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen, Oslo, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Juneau, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco... are the cities where I've experienced Couchsurfing's wonderful hosts so far.
Having people at home is something I've always loved. It's such a good occasion to get to know more about other ways of thinking, other habits, other cultures.
And having foreign travellers coming at my home is a good way to keep travelling even when I have to stay here ! If I have time, I would be glad to show you around and take you to good places.

Interests

One of my more important occupation is walking in the streets with a scarf around my neck, without actually knowing where I go. That, I always do. Watching people and discovering streets I didn't know before. Going to the cinema without knowing what the movie's about, that kind of things.
Riding my bike also drives me crazy.
I like to take the subway and listen to music alone with my beloved ipod, and just look at the stations passing by. And it's even better on the bus.
I also sometimes run at night in the streets just for the pleasure, specially when i'm not late.
I often drink hot chocolate in bed and listen to good old vinyles. I like cooking, I like dancing. I'm fine !

Music, Movies, and Books

I've got a strong heritage of pop-folk-rock music, such as the Beatles, CSN, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, The Wings, The Velvet Underground, The Doors, Bob Dylan, all good things to listen to with your windows opened and the smell of a cake baking.
I guess you also can enjoy that in a comfortable car on a big-big highway. Well I need to get the driving licence for that I guess.
Update : I'm currently working on it, should be done in the beginning of August...!

My movie-style is more something between the french Nouvelle Vague like Truffaut and Godard, and asian contemporary film makers such as Hou Hsiao Hsien or Hong Sangsoo (for examples). Bergman is fine to me too, and I don't mind a good Hitchcock. But I would not be able to say what is my favorite movie. Who can ?

Teach, Learn, Share

I can sew bags or curtains with my sewing machine or help you to get your pants shorter (if you want it).
I can teach you french.
I can explain to you how to draw in perspective.
I can read stories to you and make the voices of each character.
And I surely can make crêpes and pancakes, and any kind of good food !
