我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Because hotels can be too expensive and I'm travelling from Boston to Seattle, staying at friends' and family's and hoping to learn even more about the USA or experiencing whatever is part of the full American experience (since I've already tried the American healthcare system, I'd like to avoid gun violence though).
Also I love meeting up with people and discussing .

Learning about other cultures, reading, watching good films and tv-shows, spending time with friends and discussing any topic we might fancy, trivia, music (live and at home), travelling off the most touristic areas, museums, learning, trying new foods...

Too many to mention - from indie pop to la nouvelle chanson française but also underground Danish hiphop.
From Margaret Atwood (I wrote my master thesis on three of her novels - obviously not The Handmaid's Tale because it would have been the obvious choice and I like to complicate my life sometimes, apparently) to Fred Vargas, but also Shakespeare, Austen, Dickens, Eugenides...
As for films - too many but from Star Wars to classics such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, or Festen (The Celebration)...

At the beginning of the pandemic and lockdowns, I swore to myself that I wouldn't see the same films and series but see only new ones so I would feel less that I was wasting my time. With some very few exceptions since, I've seen many good, excellent even, new films and series - in many languages.
